My wife and I, along with our 3-year-old twins, stayed for 5 nights in this lovely villa in the hills overlooking Verona. As other reviewers have mentioned, owner Simone's advice was worth the price of this beautiful property! His recommendations for restaurants, destinations, free parking spots, places to shop, sightseeing, directions, and attractions within an hour or two drive were all spot on. He is a truly gracious host, and cooks a great breakfast. He also more than accommodated my gluten intolerance by baking many gluten-free treats every day. The beds were comfortable (our children slept all night without climbing into our bed -- a minor miracle!) and we loved cooking & enjoying dinner every night in the kitchen/dining room provided for guests. We were exhausted every afternoon after outings to Verona and other destinations in this part of Italy, and it was such a relief to come home to Villa Beatrice for a perfect evening in the garden.

Six of us (two couples and our respective daughters) spent 4 days at Villa Beatrice at the end of July. The villa and it's garden are lovely and we had a wonderful time there - due in no small measure to the advice and assistance of our truly excellent host. We took over the top floor of the villa (3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms between us).
Breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the garden are quite an occasion with good coffee and a large variety of Simone's home-made fruit juices, yoghurt, croissants, home -made cakes etc. A car is fairly essential unless you want to rack up taxi fares, although we did use taxis to see Aida in the Roman arena one evening and going rate seemed to be a pretty reasonable 20-25 euros each way for a taxi big enough to take all six of us (and no extra charge for the return trip although it was after 1 am). Simone is an absolute mine of information including identifying the major sights on a map and the route to follow in order to see them, advising where to park all day for free just a short walk from the centre of the city, and the best reasonably-priced restaurants (we liked all of the ones he advised but in particular the Osteria da Ugo where we had a superb meal). He apparently had a previous career in the hospitality industry (in the UK which explains his fluent English!) and it shows. Verona is a lovely city and although it does of course have tourists it is not overwhelmed by them (unlike the centres of Venice, Florence and Rome) and, perhaps as a consequence, the locals seem much more friendly and at no time did we feel that we were about to be ripped off. If you haven't visited it before it really is worth a few days at least - and make sure you stay at Villa Beatrice.

This place is stunning. Simone and his family are amazing and we were so pleasantly surprised by everything. The breakfast was as excellent as everyone had reviewed. I cant recommend this place highly enough. We hope to go back soon.

Absolutely stunning location!! It's on the hills out of town, so a car is an absolutely MUST have, but it's easy to get into town. Simone, the owner/host is very knowledgeable about Verona and will advise and book best restaurants, tell you where to go for best ice cream, and will simply to whatever he can to help you get the best out of your stay. Superb freshly prepared breakfast served in the garden, where all you can hear is the sound of the cicadas. If you want to simply relax in a breathtakingly quiet area, go here.

Room Tip: All rooms are spotlessly clean, stunningly quiet

Ever since we returned home from our trip to the Verona Opera Festival, contrary to our previous visits, my husband and I have been telling our friends and relatives what a wonderful “stay” we had there.
‘Villa Beatrice B&B’ was the center of our satisfaction for spending a very peaceful and homely stay during the exceptional opera feast at the Arena di Verona.
Thanks to the villa host Simone, rooms and bathrooms were very clean; livingroom comfortable; open kitchen spotless. Breakfasts we had there, prepared by Simone himself, were exceptional/delicious/a true work of art. We had a different kind of home-made cake every morning, along with muffins and croissants, delicious breads, organic honey, butter, fruit cocktail, ham and eggs. But, the highlight of all that above was the “special potion” drink Simone prepared himself with fresh fruit. It provided us with the energy that we needed for our sight-seeings and the evening opera performances.
Simone is also a very dependable guide for places to see and good restaurants to eat at. His suggestions all turned out to be the best.
Make a difference in your regular hotel routine and enjoy the home-like stay at Simone’s. You will not regret it when you enjoy the piece, surrounding woods and spacious garden with hammocks. All you will hear will be singing of birds and the sound of silence.

We recently stayed here with two other couples and loved it. I think having the whole place to ourselves probably helped although I think that Simone treats everyone like family. We (especially the ladies) liked having breakfast in the garden. All the food was freshly prepared and was delicious. Another nice perk was the barbeque area where we enjoyed ourselves one night, with the help of Simone and his wife Angelica’s expertise on where to find the best steaks and wine. All around this was a very enjoyable experience and we would recommend this to all.
