Description: In the heart of Verona and in front of the wonderful cathedral of San Zeno, Giancarlo Perbellini presides over a remarkable new restaurant. This chef, the descendant of a dynasty of Veronese pastry chefs, has earned its longstanding international renown. His plates, his sense of aesthetic and his gift for exquisite combinations are a special tribute to the Italian cuisine.

The food, the personal touch, and the overall experience made Casa Perbellini worth every single penny. And many pennies were spent to be sure! This place, however is quite accessible for us regular folks. We did the 7pm dinner service. The food paradise begins with the amuse bouche and fresh bread. On our visit, a seaweed chips with guacamole stole the early show. The first appetizer featured the signature sesame wafer served with sea bass tartar and goat cheese and was outstanding, perhaps my favorite single flavor of the night. I enjoyed the pasta first course thoroughly, though of the three it was my least favorite - blame the third course for that! The braised veal cheek with potato purée was just about perfect. This was our eight year-old daughter's favorite and she is an absolute pasta hound, so that was a surprise and reinforces exactly how good the veal was. Dessert can barely be described. All six of them were tasty, with the beer creme brûlée our least favorite and the cotton candy covered custard-like tiny "milkshake" with the edible cup the best. (Honestly not sure exactly what it was, but it was amazing.)
If you are going to Verona and can plan a month or so in advance to make a reservation here, do it!

we ate here last month and the experience still reverberates. a small restaurant where if you are seated in front of the kitchen, like the chef's table, you will be privy to how an excellent restaurant operates.

more that that, the food was superb, and so with the service. a lot of surprises to our palate, desserts included.

chef perbellini was very personable as well; would go back to this restaurant in a heartbeat!

Great place. Lovely food. Causal and relaxed service.
Loved the concept of this restaurant and the fact that you can see the chefs in action :). I was blown away by the petit fours. It was about 7 of them presented on a gorgeous plate. Yummy.

Went there for dinner after reading reviews - it exceeded our expectations - the service, the food and the ambiance was exceptional. Would highly recommend to all to visit and enjoy the theatre of the food. We had the degustation menu and waddled out - If you want to have the best view of the kitchen request the table right in front - we were to the side but still had a good view - could not believe how quiet the chefs were - we could not hear them and yet we were so close to all the action.

Suggest you forward book and look up exactly where it is - we walked and got lost - found it eventually - no big neon sign saying casa perbellini -small little sign on door - makes it much more intimate and interesting!!

This was an expensive meal (however cheaper than some equivalent restaurants in Australia) but it has been a highlight of our holiday and we will recommend it to all our friends should they be in Verona!
