A beautiful and calm B&B a 20 min walk from Verona center. Everything was perfect from the first day - lovely service from the owner who seems to love his job :) Nice room, though a bit hard bed (but I seems to be common in Italy). Easy and safe to park the car, very quiet neighborhood. Delicious breakfast (we loved the bread) but my boyfriend who is a big eater missed more meaty breakfast! The distance to the center was a big disadvantage though ... you need to take the bus (nightbus after a certain time) or the car down town. But the beauty overtakes!

Casa Magnani has few big advantages which includes great owner and nice quiet suburban location. Don't be afraid of the distance from the city center, it's only about 15 minutes by bus from Porta Nuova and about 10 minutes from Piazza Bra. Some guests claimed clock chimes from the nearby church but as for us it was just for fun. It starts around 7AM at the morning and ends at 9PM or 10PM at the evening so it really did not bother us a lot.

Many thanks to the hotel owner Massimo who helped us with the map of the city and pointed us to major landmarks. Unfortunately it was impossible to visit all of them in one day because we did not want to hurry. So I would suggest others to plan 2 days for Verona which is especially useful if you want to visit the Opera. And if you want, keep in mind you should take care of transport on your way back. For us it was easy to catch the bus (actually last one for that day) back to the hotel just at the piazza Bra. The other choice is taxi but there are a lot of people who wants to get it so it will be a long queue to wait. There is a hint from Massimo - you can call a taxi by phone and ask them to pick up you from Via Diaz which is 2 minutes by walk from Arena. You could save a half of the cost and wait less then.

We booked the small double room but lived in standard one because of the free upgrade offered by the owner. The room was very nice but had one small disadvantage: it had its bathroom lower than bedroom. It's a stairs between them with about 15 steps so it was not so pleasant to move up and down every time we needed to use the bathroom or just threw away some trash because the only trash can was in the bathroom. The cost of the room was a bit high but there are not much choice in Verona. There is a small supermarket near the hotel where you can buy most things you may need. Also they selling bus tickets there which are 20% cheaper than those in the bus.

The hotel provides car parking space also and some rooms has direct exit to that parking. If you're travelling by train you'll easily get to the hotel from Porta Nuova train station - just go to bus stops to the right of the station, find the bus going to Avesa (it's bus 23 at weekdays during the day and 97 at the evenings and weekends) and exit at Via San Martino stop. Via Messer Ottonello where the hotel is located will be the next street to the left where you can find signs to follow. Just keep in mind in the evenings buses are moving faster and even sometimes are not indicating stop names so if you feel yourself unsure than tell the driver you want to exit at Via San Martino stop.

Room Tip: Room 5 has stairs between bedroom and bathroom but has direct access to the parking area also.

I stayed there together with my girlfriend for just one night. The owners are very nice. They seem to love their jobs. Breakfast was okay, but i missed meaty stuff. ;-) Rooms are beautiful. Only problem is that the location is located a little bit away from the city.(only means about 15walking minutes) That would not be dramatic but Verona´s public transportation doens´t exist after 20:30... That´s sad.

As a young couple travelling up from Venice on the train, then catching a bus to Avesa (The area this hotel is in just outside of the centre of Verona) we were pleased to be greeted by the lovely owner of Casa Magnani who offered us refreshments and maps, advice, restaurant recommendations for our 2 day stay in Verona. The reception is small yet so welcoming as the incense sticks and buddah water feature instantly calm you after leaving the hot sun outside! Our room was small yet delightful with a morrocan theme. The bathroom immacualte spacious with a womens touch (decent hairdryer, thick towels, soaps, shampoos, hand tissues etc). Our room was literally by the church bells, so every hour and in the morning we were greeted with the super loud chims which I though added character but annoyed my grumpy sleepy boyfriend! The only bad thing about this hotel is our air conditioning was not working and it was incredibly hot, humid and almost unbearable to sleep in. Breakfast was simple but perfect for a budget price. Lovely staff, gorgeous decor, clean, perfect for a romantic break for young people on a budget if you don't mind a 20 minute bus trip into Verona (very cheap bus) but definately not the place for you if you don't enjoy living with the locals, lots of character and a hot nights sleep!

I found out about this place from tripadvisor. To reach there we used the GPS so it was easy to find the place. When we got there the owner that was a very nice and friendly woman, gaved us a map of verona and recommended places to visit, and gaved us some very useful tips. The location it is somehow outside verona, in a very nice and quiet place. The bus station it is right behind the building and it takes not more then 5 min to arrive to the center. u can also walk, as it is a very nice landscape and it takes around 20-25 min.
The room that we had it was great, very nice decorated, big windows. the place was quiet, but it is true that during the night we listened some voices from the neighbours.
I would like to go back for sure, and i totally recommend the place

The owner is friendly, very helpful, recommends many places to visit.
The location is outside Verona, countryside, but very close to the center. There are some restaurants nearby.

Negative:
the walls are very thin, you can hear the neighbours speaking.
The breakfast is very basic.
