For decent pizza and pasta, Al Paradiso is a safe bet. Located right off of the Piazza dei Signori, it is one of a series of places that caters to tourists. The prices are reasonable and the service is good.

After eating the most savory and delicious Caprese in Tuscany, this place was a bitter disappointment. Tasteless and mushy tomato with tasteless mozzarella. I did have eggplant was was tasty. It was very corded but it was also a Saturday night in the square so that is no testament to the quality of the food.

It was nearly 3 pm and were fearing that all the restauarnts would be closed in central Vicenza. We walked past this place and there were people still eating and the waiter said that it was still OK to order lunch.

Its in a nice location just off the main square and the tables offered us a good view of the surrounding area. The menus were also in English so that was good.

We ordered a pasta dish, fired fish and a pizza and all arrived quite quickly. The pasta was full of mussels and clams with a good tomato sauce so very tasty. I had the mixed fried fish which was a mixture of squid, octopus, prawns and small fish covered in a light but crispy batter - very good. The diavola pizza was good too.

Waiting staff were pleasant and efficient.

Enjoyed it.

This town is not friendly with Americans. The Army base ruined the American reputation. But if you are in Vicenza make sure to dress like an Italian. Guys, don't use hats or shorts... Learn a little bit of Italian. This restaurant is great... Great service and great food.
