I stayed in the hotel victor bari italy.
I found this hotel to be good breakfast was the usual continental and plenty of it.
Could I make a suggestion thought more fresh fruit and less pastries.
Tea was excellent and all you need.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Rooms were great but I did stay on the 8th floor.
I do not know how the lower levels without air conditioning are.
Bari as a city would need to develop as a tourist destination as I had to do all my own research.
Lovey towns close, by train but again I had to do my own research.
Very little tourist information available you need to work on it before.
I found hotel victor good as Italian hotels go.
Would I return again probably not but it is not the staff or hotels fault it's lack of tourism.
The staff were excellent as was their services.
I would recommend a tea and coffee making facility be made available.
Breakfast was the usual continental and plenty of it but fresh fruit lacking.
Hope this is some way helpful.
If you are heading to naples do take the Marino bus it's excellent more efficient than the train.

We have just returned from a week in Bari, Italy where we stayed at the Hotel Victor in the heart of the city. It was a lovely hotel and the staff were helpful and polite. The room spacious and very clean and it would be very difficult to find major faults. Breakfast was the usual " continental " but here was plenty of it.
Bari is great place for a city break and if you like shoes you would be in heaven but if you go there get on a train and go north or south. The small towns and villages which line the costline are beautiful and interesting.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back of the hotel with no view but we found this a bonus as people who were at...

Pay a little extra for the newly renovated rooms, then pop next door to the Taverna Maltese for drinks before dinner at Bella Bari restaurant 2 blocks up. Great Shopping street Spanana de Bari is 5 mins walk as are the old town and the train station. The rooms are new and clean. We had a balcony with no chairs and a new fridge that didnt work. Had to ask 3 times over 3 days before they repaired. Staff are ok but one or two individuals were less than "enthusiastic"..Dont spend more that €80 p/rpn on this one.

It depends very much whether you choose renovated or not-yet renovated room. The other is however substantially cheaper :-). Location of the hotel is excellent if you want to visit university or historical town or if you come by train. And breakfast is also great.

Room Tip: Renovated room!

I was only staying at this hotel for one night after catching the overnight ferry from Dubrovnik.
I arrived early in the morning and didn't expect my room to be ready but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was. The room was great and the location a 10 minute walk to the old port. I was leaving very early the next morning and as breakfast was included they very kindly made me a packed breakfast box to take. The only down side to my stay was that there was no hot water for my shower !!!!!

If you decide on the Hotel VICTOR in Bari, it's a decent choice, but don't get deceived by the current outside appearance of the Hotel or the lobby. The rooms are, where you spend most of your hotel-time.

Rooms:
Try to secure a Superior/Deluxe Room, it's one of the renovated and currently occupying the top 3 floors, (7th-9th) as of early Oct. 2013.
These rooms are in a fresh design, warm colors with a just down to the minimum furniture interior, with air-con, minibar, safe, free wifi and satellite flat screen TV. Equipped with a modern and roomy bathroom in a fresh design.
This all comes with a cold breakfast buffet; with bread, cold cuts, yogurt, cereals and a wide variety of croissant and pastry. It's rather a basic breakfast, but fulfills the purpose.

Location:
The hotels location is very convenient, just 3 blocks from the Bari Central Train Station (10 min. walk) and also just about a short 5 min. to the pedestrian shopping street, or 10 min. to the entrance of the old town.

Car/Parking:
If you get here by car and need to park for a short or longer period, don't bother to look for street parking, it's best you just use the parking garage opposite the hotel. It's €15.- per 24hrs for Hotel guests, as long as Victor's own garage is under renovation.

Room Tip: The Superior/deluxe rooms on the upper renovated floors. Rooms to the front may have balconies, the...

Really central to everything. The rooms are basic but very clean. Maid service everyday. Very close to train station(We walked from train station to the hotel around 5 mins).
The only downside was that the centre of Bari is very lively and very noisy until about 4am but I would highly recommend a stay here .
