This is official the main church of the city since it is the site of Archbishop. Nonetheless, tourist who go to Bari are more aware of the Basilica of St.Nicholas.
The cathedral, is close to the castle in the middle of the old town. Its exterior is quite similar to the basilica. Once again, we are confronted with a Byzantine church quite similar to St.Nicolas basilica.
The real gem is the crypt with its altar piece. The architecture style of the cathedral is different from that of the main church with main small arches.
