Of the many places I've stayed in Italy (all immaculately clean) this place was filthy in comparison. Firstly Leonardo was late picking us up from the airport with no apology, his car was a disgrace....dirty with a pile of junk in the boot and a massive crack in the windscreen - he was on his phone the whole way to the apartment. As for advertising he speaks English? Forget it... I speak better Italian and my Italian is not great by any means. So-called 'free' Wifi was not accessible - takes you a payment page.TV remote didn't work, sockets don't accept adapters apart from one on the floor by the front door so this was the only place (very dangerous) to plug in the kettle. No coffee machine, as advertised - some coffee pods and ground coffee but nothing to make it in - not even a simple moka pot. No cooking utensils / knives, so forget it if you're planning on self catering....couple of large pans and that was it, some dirty cutlery and a few bits of crockery that we didn't even use. An ancient, rusty washing machine that we didn't dare touch. The kitchen is in the main bedroom so unless you want cooking smells in your bed - forget it. The only bathroom is also off the main bedroom so if you're on the (very uncomfortable) pull down bed in the living area, you can't access the bathroom through the night - plus the toilet seat falls off. The iron is caked in rust and like something from the dark ages, but you can't plug it in anyway so don't worry. The only thing left in the 'kitchen' was some paper cups, toothpicks, a teaspoon of honey - 1 mug for coffee but no coffee that you can use; fridge was bare. The decor is a disgrace, bits of broken, random tat lying around and poorly painted / decorated. As for the advertised soundproofing, this was non existent....I could literally hear the person breathing in the next room. If you were 2 couples staying here, you would have no privacy whatsoever. Bedding is rubbish, the thinnest quilt I have ever seen - no cover for it, mismatched bedding that was at least clean. A walk-in shed / wardrobe was a bonus though....ie cupboard full of junk. Nowhere to put clothes in living area bedroom...there is a chest of drawers - we managed to open 1 drawer - it was full of junk (see pictures). The windows don't seal so if staying in colder months the place would be freezing - it was cold enough in May. Your feet get filthy just walking through the small apartment - basically the owner doesn't give a damn and I can't think why anyone would rate the place - unless he is posting his own reviews....a dump by Italian standards...and I will stay anywhere as long as it’s clean!

We (husband and 15 year daughter) were picked up from the airport by the host after our late flight and stayed for one night. The apartment is on the waterfront and overlooks the courtyard. The apartment is spacious, clean and bright.
Breakfast is at a cafe close by - but we could not find it!
The location is great - on the waterfront within easy walking distance to restaurants, old town and station. The ferry stop is outside the apartment which takes you to the other side? The ferry ride is 1 euro and you need change to buy your ticket from the machine on the ferry. Tourist information is a few doors down.
We ate at Betty's further along the promenade - in fact the food and views were so good we ate there twice!
A good start to our break.
