“Very disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

The Prof and I only had a drink in the bar. Nowhere to sit outside to enjoy the view. It looked rather old and tired, plus point was that it has a pool.
We were able to see the Villa Mosca, where we stayed - the most charming and tranquil boutique hotel in Alghero or possibly Sardinia!

“Superb kitchen, perfect location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2013

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful located with an magnificent view of the sunset over the Alghero bay. We asked for Prosecco aperitives and cokes for the kids, but unfortunately the aperifives did not show up and we had to ask for the twice before they arrived - right after we finished our excellent starters. This is pretty much how the restaurant is. A beautiful location with excellent food but the service quality could be increased. The next experience we had was they thought we only ordered 3 main courses even though we were 4 around the table. Strange they did not double check so one had to wait another 7 minutes while the rest of us had our mains. No apology for the incident.

But anyhow the food has a very high quality and we got some of the best food we experienced on Sardinia, the pricing was very modest compared to the location and quality so I can still recommend this. We tried it several times for both lunch and dinner to say that the quality and taste is always excellent but they could work a bit on the service. I do especially recommend their fish, risottos and pasta dishes - they are superb.

“not usually fond of hotel restaurants, but this one surprises”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2013

ate dinner here twice over a week, and found the food, both the usual Sardinian cuisine on every menu on the entire island (perhaps a slight exaggeration) and more "normal" Italian dishes to be excellent.Service was splendid, both efficient and friendly, and of courrse the view of sunset over the ocean is not to be missed, so depending on the time of year you are there, try to get a table in time for the view, because when the sun sets, the water is very dark, but the dining room in what used to be the summer palace for the King of Italy is pleasant as well.

“As good as the restaurant is, the view is even better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2013 via mobile

Stayed in the hotel for several nights and had two dinners and a late lunch (just after arrival). Food was excellent, service was even better, but all the tables overlook the water to the West and the sunset may distract one from the food, it's that overwhelming.

“Elegant Architecture.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2012

We didn't stay here, but we had a memorable dinner. The service and food was fantastic. This was the summer house of the Italian royalty. It was built on a small peninsula in the 1800s. Beautifully preserved. The view from the dining room was spectacular. What an exquisite place to visit! It was a pleasure for us to experience a royal treatment at this beatiful mansion!....
