I was initially attracted to this place as I was in the mood for pizza and the restaurant was extremely busy. It took a while to get seated as there only seems to be one waitress, who is little too frantic coping with all the tables. When I sat down however she was prompt to take the order and returned with a v generous serving of wine (6.00 for half litre) . My pizza (diavola) was fairly disappointing - not fully cooked and very sparse on the topping. Worse still was the row which occurred between my neighbouring diners and the waitress. For 9.00, the lady only received 2 pieces of cannelloni which did seem v.mean. Other diners agreed and the waitress who had originally shouted at the customers then just seemed extremely aggravated and slammed dishes down on tables. It did ruin the atmosphere and made things awkward. When I got the bill, I had also been charged an extra service charge of 2.00. Bit too expensive for what was on offer, and the restaurant seems desperately in need of a another (more accommodating) pair of hands!

This restaurant is perfectly situated in the heart of the town. We just stumbled upon it on our 1st day and were definitely beyond satisfied with the pizzas (Sarda and Parma). The house wine at 10 euro a litre was a great deal. Our waitress was really nice and friendly. It was a pleasant surprise when we visited on our second and final evening in town when she greeted us like she'd known us for a long time and asked if we wanted to be seated at the same table. We tried pizza from another restaurant closer to our hotel on our 1st night and it could not compare to the pizzas here. If ever we are in alghero again we would definitely visit here.

Had Pizza at this resturant It was so salty, I did not enjoy it. also had to pay €4 "Coperta" which I don't mind paying for in a nice resturent with table cloth not sitting on the street with a paper mat as a table cloth and then to be charged €1.50 extra as service charge. There are much nicer Resturants then this one.

We are that Irish couple in the last review, and having discovered this place we had lunch there three days of our week in Alghero. The Siciliana pizza was outstanding (up there with the best in Napoli), the chef was singing heartedly which added to the ambience. We ate outside each day even though the inside was very Italian and atmospheric. Our host Gianfranco was gracious and charming and typified the Sardinian personality. The Aragosta white wine was to die for and fab value at €13 per bottle, also the house white (vino locale) great value at €10 per litre jug. One of the many highlights of our visit to the beautiful island of Sardinia. We are really looking to a return visit to this place in the not too distant future.

Having just read other reviews it goes to show that there are good and bad days in restaurants! We sat outside for 2 days and had great pizza's, best was the Siciliana. Perfectly cooked, fresh and really tasty. We were charged 9 Eoro as stated on the menu. There is a cover charge which is a bit out of order and the house wine was not good so we stayed with beer the next day. Service was OK, maybe not the most freindly in Alghero but we will eat there again next year. There was an Irish couple on the next table and they also rated the pizza's very highly.
