We cannot recommend villas las Tronas enough-all the things said in other reviews about pristine gardens, immaculate upkeep of the place and great location close to alghero but still secluded are true. But mostly it is the staff that really stand out. Laura and a lovely gentleman at the reception who even tried to help my husband find his wedding band under gravel outside in the parking lot were just the best!! The pool area is very pretty as well. Definitely go for at least a terrace as nothing beats the view. In advance the hotel sent us advice on what to do and they could have just not been nicer. It is not cheap but we definitely felt that it was worth every cent.

Carlos V hotel is five star plus we have been here a week and wish that we were not returning to the UK tomorrow. The views are breathtaking, it is worth booking a suite fantastic accommodation with three balconys in an idyllic location. The hotel staff are excellent and very accommodating and we would recommend the restaurant albeit a little more atmosphere would be welcomed the food is excellent.

The old town of Alghero is stunning, traditional charm with many affordable quality restaurants and bars. We have fallen in love with this beautiful place and can't wait to return later on this year.

Room tip: Fantastic suites from the third floor upwards very spacious and quiet.

Booked a week at Villa Las Tronas, actually still here and felt compelled to share our experience thus far. The property is simply stunning and all is as advertised, the pictures do not do the place justice. The rooms are well appointed and no matter whether you get a sea view or garden view it is all fantastic. Check in was a breeze and the property is close to the Alghero airport which makes transfers very efficient.
The hotel amenities are excellent, Spa includes a salt water indoor pool, sauna and turkish bath. Upon our arrival even though they were closing down we were allowed in to use the facilities, very accommodating staff. Whether indoors or out lounging by the pool the whole place is library quiet which is excellent for recharging and relaxing.
We dined at the restaurant last night, prices are very competitive with other places we checked out in town (which is a short walk from the hotel). The menu choices are good and quality of the food was excellent, also a good selection of local and imported wines. We always go local when traveling and both food and wine did not disappoint, fabulous.
Special mention to our server Giuseppe for making the stay excellent thus far. Overall we cannot wait to come back and we are still here... that should say it all.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. The grounds are beautifully kept and picturesque. The hotel itself is charming and clean. Breakfast is wonderful and the staff is incredibly friendly. The views are breathtaking. Your meals are severed in a dining area over looking the sea. The hotel is in walking distance of the town but still private.

We obviously haven't stayed at any other hotels in sardinia as this was our first time however this does seem like the most prominent hotel and seem unique from the others. It is in its own secluded area with the entrance to the hotel locked with a security gate.

We stayed 2 nights. Reception staff were nice, breakfast was good - hot breakfast ordered to your needs plus fruit, croissants, pastries, cakes, toast, cereal, cheese, etc. orange juice was fresh which we really liked.

Views from the hotel are lovely. A few different spots to sit and relax. Not the largest resort, in fact probably small and not that much to do, but for a relaxing break, it's great. We also played ping pong and used the spa facilities and gym. We used the indoor pool ( not the outdoor one) and it was nice, with the water warm.

It isn't close to the beach though in case that was a requirement, though there is a very small beach (very small) beside the hotel.

Room was ok, have experienced better in 5* but not bad at all. Location wise, it was about 10 minutes walk to the old town along the coast which was nice.

All in all, good hotel with good staff, though if you pay the rack rate, it may be quite expensive.
