“Beautiful Alghero, Sardinia”
Reviewed 3 October 2013

Sardinia is a beautiful Island with rolling countryside, beautiful beaches and wonderful food. Alghero town itself is full of life but not crazy busy. The old part of the town is historic and pretty. Hotel Oasis is only 30 minutes walk from the town but there is ample public transport to get you everywhere. My room was good size with excellent en-suite facilities and a massive balcony that looked over the pool and bar area. The cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Food was also good especially the Sardinian night with typical Sardinian food. Loved the dessert of cheese encased by pastry, deep fried in olive oil and drizzled in honey - YUM! The beach is literally a walk across the road and through the trees with beautiful white sand and crystal clear sea.

This holiday, and the hotel Oasis- i would say this is the best holiday i've been on for the price i payed for many many years. Very much worth every penny i payed.
Our room was spacious, good view of the pool and the giant Palms, Shower was good , room was cleaned very well each day. The bed was Massive.
But the best thing to say about this hotel - is the amazing food. Especially the delicious evening meals, quiet simply the best food i've ever had at a hotel.
The location is perfect for the best beach in Alghero, lovely soft white sand, and incredibly clear water.
The beaches closer to the town are not that good, so if your looking for a good place to sunbathe this is perfect for you.
To get into the town it's a short bus ride, which costs one euro.
At night there is little to do in the location of the hotel, no night life at all. so be warned if you fancy a few drinks and a good atmosphere, you will need to travel into Alghero.
All staff were friendly and made the stay very pleasant.
The bus routes are easy to use, you can use the local bus to the airport (one euro) which will save you £25.00 taxi fare. From the airport get off at the town Maria Pia then walk about 15mins to the hotel.
So if you are going to Alghero for your hols - in my opinion this is a great place to stay.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view room, the other side faces the car park.

hi just got back from a week in the Hotel Oasis in Alghero Sardinia
The hotel is very good we always go and check the reviews before travelling and find this really usefull
upon arriving we were given our keys and went to our room the rooms are fairly large with a large balcony and a nice bathroom/wc with a bidet??? lol there are no baths just a large shower cubicle which we found really nice plenty of hot water and soaps and shower gel provided
The towels are not as we are used to in the uk (more like tea towels) but are clean and changed whenever you want (just leave them in the shower tray)
we asked for a room facing the tennis courts as we were told that these are quieter than the ones facing the main pool
the restaurant staff are really friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome we were assigned a table for our entire stay which was a nice touch for both breakfast and evening meals which meant there was no scrabble for tables at mealtime
the food in the restaurant is typical Italian fare and lots of it
breakfast is a main meal here and there is a lot to choose from from cereal through a continental to a cooked affair
Evening meals are pastas rice and various local and Italian foods salad soup of the day etc also the dessert of the day and fresh fruit my wife is a bit of a fussy eater and she always found something but your in Sardinia after all so you eat their food so if you want chicken nuggets an chips then the food will not be to your liking but there is also an onsite pizza bar
The pool bar serves sandwiches throughout the day (I recommend the cooked ham and cheese mmm) which is more like a small loaf than a sandwich also behind the pool bar is a play area for the kids and mini golf and 2 hot tub jaccuzi,s
the white sandy beach is within a short walk and if you fancy a visit into alghero town a bus stop is about 20yds up the road and will cost €1.50 each way also try the big red bus trip its well worth it
the only downside was a €6 charge per day for the aircon but we didn't really need it as we were there in first week of september
generally I would recommend a visit to the Hotel Oasis if you are going to sardinia

Room Tip: I would recommend rooms 312-320 as these are on the top floor and far enough away to be quiet we had...

Although the hotel is not the prettiest from the outside the actual interior and rooms are comfortable and more than adequate. We stayed half board and the food was absolutely amazing, as we're the hotel staff. The prices of the drinks were quite high and the hotel runs a no cash system so you have to put cash onto the hotel payment card for any purchases. The town was within walking distance, approx 50min walk. Neptune's grotto/caves are well worth a visit but be prepared for walking both down and back up over 600 steps!

The snorkelling was good but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wasn't confident in the water.

Don,t be fooled from the outside of Hotel Oasis, not the prettiest but the service particularly in the hotel resturant was amazing, eat as much as you like, all food freshly cooked and hot.
The rooms are basic but very clean and tidy. The swimming pool was always bing swept so always tidy, and all staff spoke excellent English, the hotel had all excursion so you could see what was on and when, if you come here you must see Neptune grotto the 600 and something steps make it well worth the leg burn, but remember, what ever you step down you will have to go back up! Perfect location if your a beach lover as just across the road through the trees is the beach, crystal
clear aquamarine sea, and the town is about 50 minute walk, or you can jump on the local buses, only 1.50 pp but best time to go in is 9.30pm onwards as that's when the locals come out until 1-2 in the morning.

We stayed here for 5 nights in July 2013. This hotel is located a bit further out of Alghero city next to a beautiful Maria Pia beach. 40-minute seaside walk to the Old city / 10 minutes bus ride (plus the waiting time for the bus, as they don't come on schedule in 90% if cases). Hotel's facilities are nice and inviting: good pool area, light and spacious lobby, big restaurant room. The rooms are Ok size and being cleaned every day. We also had a nice balcony facing the poolside area. The breakfast was a bit monotonous, but okay. All in all, this was a good stay in a nice and quiet hotel.
