We went for a short break to Alghero and booked 4 nights in this hotel.Although it is a 3* it has a few extras that were a nice touch. The breakfast that could be had up until 11am was appreciated when you are in holiday mode.Good selection of fruit, cereals, breads, cold meats and cheese.
The twin room we booked was spacious with a double and a single bed.
The bedinen was crispy and fresh and we were given fresh towels daily.
For the girls who notice these things there was L'Occitane dispensers in bathroom of shower gel, shampoo and hand soap!!
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is 10 min stroll to the old town which is where we went at night as most restaurants there. There are lots of cheap and cheerful pizzerias around.
But i would recommend for a treat Trattoria Al Refettorio (off Vicolo Adami street). We ate there two or our 4 nights.Great mixed grilled fish ,pasta, and home cooked deserts, as opposed to the frozen ones you can get.
Also check out a wine bar called Majorca Pub.lovely atmosphere.Best Mojitos in Alghero!
The town was quiet in general but to be expected for off season.I have been to Alghero before in early sept and it was much busier

me and my husband stayed in the alma hotel for one week. it was our first time to alghero and this hotel proved to be the best choice on where to stay. It is located close to the beach and 15minutes walking to the old town. The staff were really lovely and extremeley helpful, they even gave us a map and marked on there the best places to visit!! The breakfast was various fruit, bread, cakes and coffee, typical italian style, but very good for a 3 star hotel. ! In our room there was a flat screen tv and free sky and we could watch more than 100 english channels, also free wifi which was great for us to send regular emails!! The only bad thing was the construction in front of the hotel which was very unsightly!
We would recommend this hotel for everyone, good value for money.

Very clean, simple hotel. Great location about 50 metres walk to main beach in Alghero.
15 mins walk along the beach to the old town and about a 5 minute drive in the opposite direction to Maria Pia, a beautiful, smaller beach than the main beach.

Staff upon our arrival were very friendly and helpful however they were placed by a more abrupt, older woman (late 40's) the next day who wasn't very helpful. There was also another guy in his late mid-late 30's who said he would call up to ask about a boat cruise to La Maddelena for us but upon our return, he hadn't done it and didn't apologise at all. This could have made a big difference to our stay as we DROVE all the way there (took about 4hrs) and by that time missed any of the boats that could have taken us out to all the islands. He also failed to tell us that Stintino (only about an hours drive away) is another beautiful location where we could have taken a boat.

All in all, a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay, breakfast was good and MOST of the staff were great. Just make sure you research where you want to go when you get there, don't expect to be able to rely on the staff for ideas for all of Sardegna. Their knowledge didn't extend outside Alghero.

Side note - PLENTY of TV channels if you ever get stuck with bad weather! And heaven for soccer fans!

Reception very friendly. Room very big with balcony. Only 2 minutes walk to the beach from the hotel and 15 minutes walk to the centre of Alghero. Breakfast quite good. Cereals, bread, ham, cheeses, cakes, juice.
Rooms clean and basic. Good shower. Wouild definitely recommend this and would come back.

This is located among the ugly badly planned modern streets of Alghero. The architecture around here is very ugly and clashes badly with the old part of the town. The town planners have a lot to answer for!

Your view is likely to be of a car park or another apartment block. The A/C was very noisy and a bit smelly, but we didn't try any other rooms because we moved straight away to a nicer hotel further out. We changed to the sister hotel (far nicer), had some minor hassle with desk staff who had to contact management, at our insistence. They wanted us to pay for the room because we'd sat on the bed. But once they'd inspected it, and with a little encouragement from us, they let it drop :) To be fair, our request was out of the ordinary, the staff seemed in general to be very polite and helpful.

This would be a good value hotel if you wanted to be near the town, and access the famous beach.

Firstly to be clear - we didn't actually stay here. We had booked five nights, and arrived, and were met by two lovely staff members.
However, I disliked it on sight. Despite it's proximity to the beach there were no sea view rooms. Your view is likely to be onto a car park and over to another apartment type building. Its not a pretty part of Alghero either - very unattractive in fact, and the beach doesn't smell good. The air con in the room sounded like an Irish Winter storm, and the whole place smelled like a hospital.

So thankfully they have a sister hotel Punta Negra, quite a bit more expensive (but do remember that once you're there everything is negotiable). The extra was certainly worth it. We were very glad to leave.

The hotel is well sign posted and easy to find. It does offer car parking for 5 euro per day or if you're lucky you may find parking along the beachside, although that did get very busy. The hotel is just set back from the road and there is some building work taking place slightly in front of the hotel, so unfortunately there is no see view, however this did not upset our stay at all. The hotel staff are warm and friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and offer a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed the breakfasts at this hotel, especially the fresh coffee made on order as you walk in. We would definately recommend this hotel.
