“Very nice and cute hotel !”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

We had the Junior Suite (room #1). The suite is very nice, kind of an old style. We had fresh fruits and biscuits waiting for us. Only thing is that the room is at the back of the hotel, has a super small balcony and no view (or a view to the wall, 3 meters away and the neighbours' windows).
The personnel was very nice, the lounge has a great view on the harbour and de Via Roma.
The hotel is very nicely located in the very city centre.
The breakfast was awesome, and fresh.
The Wifi connectivitw is kinda jumpy, but a computer is available for free to all.

The hotel is not so easy to find (the door is between a coffee shop and another store) and the lift is kind of small, but I guess this is also the charm of boutique !

Room Tip: I think rooms on the "Via Roma" side have a nicer view (harbour and sea), but are less qui...

Miramare Boutique Hotel is one of the most beautiful Town-Hotel we have ever visited. The place is full of Art-Deco furniture and very tastefully details. The rooms are perfect, clean and comfortable. Even if the place is on a very busy street just by the harbour, we found a parking near the trainstation and could leave our car 24 hours for Euro 10.-. We didn't mind the elevator being old and small. Entering the house the first time, one has to go upstairs to the third floor without elevator, which was not a problem. For the luggage we had some help immediately. We were warmly wellcomed and pampered during all our stay. We look forward to go back one day.

Room Tip: it is possibel to book a room without harborview but quiet instead.

If you want something a little different for your stay in Cagliari, then the Miramare hotel is definite something you should consider. It is . . . um . . . quirky, shall we say? Decorated in a mix of bric-a-brac, antique shop and art studio it is indeed a colourful (if a little cluttered) place. I was overly anxious that I’d knock over something delicate and break it whenever I left my room.

The rooms are comfortable and all decorated in their own “theme” – our was floral, and then some! – and the bathrooms are modern and clean, if a little cramped. The staff are helpful , particular the girl dealing with breakfasts, and having someone on the door 24 hours a day is comforting in a place that most definitely does not have that big hotel vibe.

Breakfast was frankly astonishing given the size of the breakfast area. While able to seat maybe ten people comfortably, the buffet breakfast offered a very broad variety of options (all cold) – anywhere that can offer me at least three different types of freshly baked cake for breakfast is doing something right, in my opinion!

There are some gripes though; given we were driving into Cagliari, the hotel search we did included the options for parking, and the Miramare offers free parking. Well, yes, possibly. The road outside the hotel is utterly crazy, and there are some parking spots on it, though mostly paid spots. It is possible to find free parking but to do so you have to be exceptionally lucky AND willing to cram your car into heroically tiny spots that butt up to the road in a rather alarming fashion. This really isn’t “free parking” as I would expect it. In addition to that the offered Wifi worked for about 50% of our time there. Again, not ideal.

Overall the stay was indeed a good one but the odd quirks and slight misrepresentations on what you are paying for mean it has to lose some marks somewhere.

Found this hotel from TripAdvisor and very pleased I did. Very central. Room clean and pleasant and the whole place is full of character. Welcome change from faceless chain hotels. Wonderful breakfast. Like eating in an art gallery. So I would worry about going there with young kids. Too much to break!

We just loved our 4 night stay at this hotel - stylish and comfortable. We were travelling as 2 couples and stayed in a suite and a room with a sea view. Both were lovely with individual 'eclectic' decor which was charming and different from typical hotel rooms (in a good way!). The hotel is in a great location just a five minute walk from the bus station and central for the main part of the town. We found it easily and the small lift was quirky and fun. Breakfasts were a delight both in content and presentation and it was lovely to sit with a glass of wine in the pretty main room of an evening. The only downside was the rather alarming noise of the bells at which sounded as though they were actually ringing in the suite but we learned to anticipate this, if not to sleep through it! Overall, the hotel offered a combination of service, style and comfort which was very impressive. Highly recommend it for this location.

Room Tip: The suite really had the wow factor and the sea view room, although noisier, was lovely

This hotel is in one of the best locations. It has a very interesting entrance with the original lift in perfect working order. When you first enter the hotel your eyes are met with an array of artefacts both old and contemporary. The breakfast room has a wonderful quirky feel about it and very welcoming. The staff make you feel very welcome and take the time to explain the area and point out the best places to eat and shop ( if you are into shopping). There are plenty of cafe's nearby and some nice restaurants in the narrow streets behind the hotel. Staying here was a good experience however if I had one minor issue the twin bedroom we had didn't live up to the pictures on the web. It was comfortable enough, even if the door to the bathroom did not close, but didn't have the same feel. The room was small and the bathroom very cramped and not really worth €152 per night. We would have expected a better room for the price.

The building entrance from street level made me question the wisdom of our choice of accommodation. The rather cramped and ancient lift looked as though it should be an exhibit in an elevator museum. With some trepidation we took the ride to the third floor where we were warmly greeted and given our first exposure to this wonderfully quirky boutique hotel. We had been allocated the ‘Lovers Room’. The lovers in question were young ladies painted on the ceiling above the bed. Luckily they were far more interested in their own energetic activities than what was happening in the bed beneath them.
This is very much a form over function hotel. There is an abundance of interesting, if somewhat uncoordinated, artefacts throughout the hotel. A great place for a brief special stay, but the limitations might be a bit restrictive for longer visits. At the risk of sounding a bit of a sad case, the hotel wifi didn’t reach as far as the ‘Lovers Room’ and the room had the flimsiest door that I have ever come across.
