Had a great stay. The B&B was beautiful with a large room and big bathroom. Lovely decor and comfy bed. Shower had good pressure. Breakfast was nice with fresh orange juice which we thought was delicious with croissants, sliced.meat, boiled eggs and cereal. The owner Matilde provided us with good information about Catania, where to go, what to see, where to eat and tours to Mt Etna. She speaks English and so do the breakfast staff. All are very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

We arrived in Catania late at night and attempted to book in to this hotel. Despite having booked via an on-line booking site - they had no record of our booking. We were gutted! Despite this the staff were so apologetic and helpful and immediately rang another hotel a few 100 metres away and booked us into the other hotel.

Even though we didn't get to stay in the hotel - they bent over backwards to ensure that we were safe and found somewhere to stay. Fantastic service!

The B&B is located in a large residential building in a pleasant location within easy reach of the train station and city centre. There is parking behind the building. The rooms are very spacious, air-conditioned, clean and tastefully decorated; I was particularly impressed with the artwork on the vaulted ceilings. There is WiFi in every room. The staff is extremely helpful and I would highly recommend this B&B.

Antiche Volte is a B&B located OUT of the city center of Catania. Although the lady at the front desk told us that the walk to the center was about 10 min, we like to correct her as the walk is at least, when you really step on it, about 20 minutes minimum! And we are tall peoplle with long legs :).
The room was nice, we had a suite with a beautiful ceiling. The bathroom is small, when you take a shower (in the jacuzzi bath tub), the whole bathroom is wet but okay, that's no big deal.
The rooms are not good isolated, you can hear your neighbours talk. The breakfast room is so close by that you can hear everything also. So much privacy is not there.
Breakfast is basic, we were surprised about the guy using a food processor to produce juice from the whole orange, including the white skin......not drinkable no more!!!
The breakfast room is decorated nice!
Overall, we had an okay stay, nice room, but a bit unhappy with the location, expected to be more close to the old town.
But again, for a one night stay over it was okay. People of front desk and guy from breakfast room all kind and friendly.

Room Tip: We have not seen the other rooms but the suite is very nice decorated room.

Dear Madam,
Thank you for leaving a review on tripadvisor.
Some small clarification: the B & B is located in the City CENTER onf Catania, Via Umberto, in fact, is one of the main street linking the sea to the gardens of Villa Bellini (via Etnea). The center of Catania is very large so the distance 10 or 20 minutes depending on where you want to go.
We have Gifted to you the Suite room at the normal room rate ... the bathroom is certainly NOT small!
For breakfast: our specialty is the spin of fresh orange and white skin, which we use to eat, is the richest of vitamins! It's certainly drinkable! And is highly appreciated by all our guests.
We hope to have you as our guest!
Regards,
Matilde

I recently stayed at this B&B for a long weekend. It was extremely clean and wonderfully decorated. The rooms are all unique, most of which feature beautiful vaulted ceilings. The staff is extremely helpful and the breakfast is delicious! I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone staying in Catania.

THE PLACE:
This B&B sits in a spacious apartment in a residential building, quite conveniently located, in an elegant part of the town, and at a walking distance (20 min) from the old city (you don't want to stay in the old city as it is quite dirty and can be a bit dodgy in certain parts).
The rooms are huge and very comfortable, with beautiful paintings on the ceiling. There is a king-sized bed and a single bed in the room, although I would assume they charge you more if 3 people are staying in it.
SERVICE:
The only downside is that compared to other B&Bs, no one lives there. Basically there is only staff at reception when you check-in and when you check-out, so there is not a lot of attention. Our flight was leaving late and when checking out at 11am we asked if we could leave our luggage and pick it up at 5pm, they just said 'no' as no one would be there to open the door for us! They do give you a mobile number to call in case you need help during your stay, but overall it feels like you are renting a flat with someone to fix the breakfast in the morning.
CARPARK:
They provide a parking space in a little patio behind the building, which is convenient and will save you a few euros per day. However be careful if you have anything bigger than a fiat punto, it is difficult to get in and even more to get out as it is tiny and there is a very steep slope. We almost ruined the clutch of our rented car as we had to exit in reverse gear up!

My sister & I stayed 6 days at this B & B, using it as our base to visit Sicily, the island that our great grandparents came from. It was clean, beautifully decorated, and they served a very nice breakfast every day. The manager, Matilde Cifali, lives just across the hall from the B & B and was very helpful, telling us about good restaurants in the area, helping us with printed bus schedules to different cities, and locating banks, churches, and sights of interest on the city map that the B & B provided. Although we didn't need it, there is also a place to park a car. The B & B is located on a great shopping street, just down from the Belini Gardens, & within walking distance to the bus or train station. Matilde even arranged for the taxi to take us to the airport for our return flight home. If you get the chance to go to Sicily, Catania is a very nice, clean city to make yur base of operations, & the B & B Antiche Volte is a delightful place to rest at night - and the shower was wonderful!

Room Tip: There are several beautifully decorated rooms. We stayed in the "yellow" room, closest to...
