Having been recommended this restaurant by our nearby three-star b&b, which was OK but not special, we had low expectations. We had also been told that it was the only place open late at night when we arrived after a delayed flight.
But it was in a different class to any Italian restaurant back home – even the ones with season-long waiting lists. Although not Italian, I grew up in Italy and visit the country quite often. This is the best local I have ever eaten in. The table next to the kitchen (separated by a glass wall) is fun, and the waiting staff are justifiably proud to be here. This place has star-quality charisma.
