A stay at the Globetrotter B and B in Catania is a wonderful experience. The friendly staff are multi-lingual, knowledgeable, and go out of their way to be helpful. The rooms are clean and comfy. The breakfast at Globetrotter is exceptional, with cereal, breads, pastries, cheese, fruit and of course caffe and teas. There is even a guitar in the lounge, and an atmosphere of international friendship. The location is steps away from the main Piazza and Duomo, and huge bustling fish and vegetable markets. There is also a central bus station nearby, as well as Via Etnea, a long mostly car free boulevard that has the best shopping in Sicily, including side streets filled with open air markets every morning, where bargains and treasures abound. For the price this is far and away the best place to stay in Catania!

I stayed at B&B Globetrotter for three nights in late December. Good location; five minute walk from Piazza Duomo. A couple of minutes from Piazza Federico di Svevia, which has a castle with an interesting history...I highly recommend you go on the Etna Experience tour (which is affiliated with the B&B) to find out more as I learnt loads and it was the highlight of my stay in Catania. The B&B itself is very central, with large and clean bedrooms/bathrooms and a good breakfast spread. The receptionist Frederica even went to buy fresh, warm bread for me every morning! Breakfast is held on a communal table in the foyer which gives you a chance to speak to other guests and staff. All staff are very friendly and speak English well. They're also happy to give you tips as to what to see in Catania without being intrusive. Excellent value for money for those wanting a private room without being one of thousand guests in a bigger hotel.

A very pleasant and cosy bed & breakfast, good atmosphere!
Also a very nice location in the city center, the smal street where the hostel is located is not noisy.
The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, The owner and staff are very friendly and hospitable, you feel very welcome.
Breakfast is fine, good coffee. A recommendation for everybody who wants to visit Catania or Siracusa.

B&B Globetrotter, Catania, is one of the best B&Bs I have stayed in. The hostel is located quite close to the city centre, about two minutes by walk from the Duomo and the main shopping street, and 5 minutes by bus from the central station. The airport is about 15 minutes away. My dorm room turned out to be a huge double room with a view in a well maintained apartment, and is excellent value for the price. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, from arranging excursions to Mount Etna to calling up local business to check up on other tours and activities that I wanted to go for (though sadly, November is not tourist season in Sicily). The breakfast was pretty good (plus they had chocolate cake ^_^), and the wifi connection was excellent in all the rooms I stayed in (I changed my bookings so many times, but they were always very accomodating!). I also got tons of excellent advice on things to do in and around Catania. I highly recommend B&B Globetrotters, I would definitely stay here again. Thank you guys!

The B&B Globetrotter is a hidden gem in Catania, Sicily. Our stay here was incredible! From the accommodations in the family "suite," to the basic but delicious continental breakfast, to the personal and friendly touches of Sofia, our host, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location of this B&B is somewhat hidden from the main streets, but truly takes on old world Sicilian charm, and is within walking distance to Catania's famous fish market, downtown square, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone traveling through or staying in Catania! Truly a hidden gem...

Room Tip: For families (we had 4 in our party) the back "suite" was incredible, with it's own cobblestone entrance, outside picnic table and cozy family accommodations.
