“Decent meal for a good price”
Reviewed 9 November 2013

Yes the kitchen was a little slow but the food was good fare. The waiters were mostly immigrants while the manager (busy grooming himself and on telefonino most of the time). The waiters were fast and eager to please. Interesting to see how that social dynamic works in many countries.

Anyway, despite Mr. Cool Manager, we had a good meal on a pleasant terrace, on a Sunday--the other diners were mostly Italian families rather than stranieri. Yes, the smoke can be a nuisance.

In all, I think we ate well, not fancy, and we paid a good price. The obliging waiters were tipped in cash so we knew they would get what they earned.

“Just for once”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

A place mainly for passer byes tourists. Big patio but not properly designated areas for smokers and non smokers. Unfortunately Italians seem to be always eager for a puff, no matter where they are, and they dont seem to mind neighbours in this respect. Food in this resto is average good. A blue eyed arrogant skin tight dressed man was the person in charge. Bill reached 40 Euros and something for an appetizer two main courses and two beers( 40 euros table service included) ; No tips deserved;

“Very nice dinner out!”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

I was quite surprised to read so many bad comments about the place! I visited it a couple of months ago and even if the service was a bit slow, everything tasted delicious to me. The pasta was cooked perfectly and it was also very flavory. The wine was not extraordinary but the food certainly made up for it. I think you definitely should try it and make your own judgment. Worth the try and very beautiful decor.

“NIce and cozy place”
Reviewed 12 September 2013

I read about the place on some website for tourists and it is certainly true. We were welcomed and led to the table within seconds after entering the doors. In a bit we were asked for our drinks selections and then had just enough time to choose the dishes.

We had fried mozzarella, which was just great. The only thing about it is that it is served without any sauce, but is still delicious.

The two pizzas arrived in a matter of minutes after we were finished with the starter, both were extremely hot and full of ham, mushrooms and anchovies. They actually were so big, we were hardly able to finish half of each and were gladly offered a box to take home the left overs.

The wine is very simple, but what would you expect from the house wine? It was good to go with the pizzas, nothing special.

The waiters were always around, looking after the table, picking empty dishes and ready to help.

All in all, very pleasant and unexpensive dinner with good service.

“Turtles are fed well... Do not expect much!”
Reviewed 11 September 2013

We tried this restaurant on our first night on a 10 day trip in Sicily. This was a major disappointment as the food was just ok and the wine was appalling. We travelled as a family of four and the service was not organised or smooth. We waited for extended time for service, as the waiters did not know who should serve us. The food was overcooked. The seafood grill had only three items and tasted flavourless. We complained and it was replaced. The owner or manageress spoke and said that the plate was small to add more seafood to the dish! I find this rather disappointing t as you are in a island known for best seafood. I had mussels and it tasted like the dish was cooked with very little passion as it lacked seasoning and flavour. Our kids had a pizza which was better described as bread with tomato sauce as it tasted very poor.
We liked the restaurant as it is close to theatre massimo and has a turtle tank which are fed by the chef of the outlet. We never returned here due to the disastrous experience. We ventured to more restaurants which were fantastic like Volo, Ai vechietti.
