Yes the kitchen was a little slow but the food was good fare. The waiters were mostly immigrants while the manager (busy grooming himself and on telefonino most of the time). The waiters were fast and eager to please. Interesting to see how that social dynamic works in many countries.
Anyway, despite Mr. Cool Manager, we had a good meal on a pleasant terrace, on a Sunday--the other diners were mostly Italian families rather than stranieri. Yes, the smoke can be a nuisance.
In all, I think we ate well, not fancy, and we paid a good price. The obliging waiters were tipped in cash so we knew they would get what they earned.
