“Excellent accommodation in great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2013

Stayed here for 4 nights in May 2013 - excellent location and the hotel was brilliant. Large spacious room on the 4th floor which included a nice bathroom with shower cubicle and a walk in wardrobe. The hotel has free wifi which is very handy plus the breakfast is really good - a hot selection, continental option, cereals, pastries and yoghurts. The hotel has a wellness suite with a sauna and steam room which is open to guests in the evenings. Reception and restaurant staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend for a central Palermo hotel.

We stayed there for 2 nights at the beginning of a 12-days road trip in Sicily. Room is spacious, very nice design, comfy bed, all the areas of the hotel feel pretty clean and luxurious and offer a big contrast with the streets of Palermo which is probably the dirtiest town I have ever seen - in Europe at least...
Our room was facing Via Vittorio Emanuele which was pretty noisy until late at night...
If you have a car, you can park it down the street where there's a free public parking. Some guys will ask you for money, give them 1 to 3 euros (no more) and shake their hand, that's how it works there...We parked ours there for almost 2 days for 3 euros and had absolutely no problem.
Plenty of very good restaurants in the neighbourhood.
If you walk straight Via Vittorio Emanuele, you will have lots of major attractions to visit along the way and won't need your car.
Breakfast was included, very nice breakfast room, spacious and clear. Nice choice, but having experienced other similar breakfasts during our trip after this one, some typical Sicilian cakes were not super fresh, juices had no taste. Overall, nice breakfast though but not the best.

We had a terrible experience at the Palazzo Sitano - it's location, while convenient for dinner (though the nearby restaurants are very touristy) or sightseeing, is surrounded by loud, rowdy bars that do not close until after 3am and make sleep impossible. Note that I'm a 30 year old traveler, so I don't have anything against bars, but the hotel makes no effort to minimize the noise for guests. There are simple things they could do, like provide earplugs or get draperies that would muffle the sound. I went to the front desk to complain, and the attendant told me the bars would close at midnight, which is inconvenient, but reasonable, for a Friday night. however, that turned out to be a lie, the bars were open until 3am. He also told me this was typical for a "European city hotel"...I have stayed at plenty of other "city hotels" in Europe without problems like this. He was condescending and rude, adding further insult to injury. At a hostel or 2 star hotel, this could be expected, but at an alleged 4 star property, it is ridiculous.

When I say loud, I mean LOUD. I can tell you every song that was played - Eye of the Tiger, Guns and Roses, Depeche Mode... songs I'd appreciate if I was AT the bar, but when trying to sleep in a four star hotel, you expect to be able to get to sleep, at least after midnight. We had a 7am flight, so we had to wake up at 4, and since the bar didn't close until 3, by the time the street cleared we were getting out of bed, without a minute of sleep all night.

So, if you want to pay 150+ euro to stay at a nightclub and be up all night, stay at this hotel. If you are looking to get any rest, I strongly advise you to stay somewhere else.

We have just returned from 8 days touring Sicily from Palermo to Catania. Our first 2 nights were spent in Palermo and we were very happy with our choice of Palazzo Sitano.
I had booked early and got a great rate. Our flight arrived mid morning and on arrival at the hotel around lunchtime we were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in early and get our room.
We were in the middle of the hotel facing a small courtyard which was very quiet with no street noise.
the location is great with the main sites and station within walking distance. Breakfast was good and we found all staff to be pleasant and helpful. There is a small Carrefour supermarket to the rear of the hotel ( turn right out of hotel then immediately right again along the lane to the square and then the supermarket will be to your right) which was great for picking up a picnic or drinks.
We ate locally at Gagini based on TA reviews which was just a 2 minute walk from the hotel and had a great meal. (separate review)
All in all we were very happy with our choice of Palazzo Sitano and would return and recommend to friends.

This hotel has an older section, and a newer section in back. Try to secure a room in the newer section if possible-- you might face an uninteresting courtyard in the back, but it will be dead quiet with no street noise. The more modern rooms can be quite small, but they're extremely comfortable. Mine had a huge marble bathroom. Breakfast is standard Italian-hotel fare. Very good food and no complaints.

The front desk staff was helpful with all requests, but they did seem to get backed up at certain times of the day. I loved that we could walk pretty much everywhere from this hotel, including to and from the train station (about 10-15 minutes.)

Given the comfort, the location, and the excellent rate I got, I'd stay here again happily.

It is a very good hotel for a city trip. The location is perfect, even when you rent a car (what we did). There is a free parking place just around the corner and
you can visit the most historic buildings by walking .
The staff at the front desk was very friendly but don't ask a recommandation for a restaurant.
They send us two evenings to a restaurant in the neighbourhood and they where not good.
Most of the people in the restaurant where guests of the hotel!
The breakfast is ok but nothing special. I had booked two double rooms.
Unfortunatly one of the rooms was very noisy during the whole night. Ask for a room on the inside of the hotel!!! Our room was very quiet.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the inside , not on the streetside

Promises of five pre booked rooms facing courtyard were broken. Dreadfully noisy street below. Rude front desk staff. Bathroom basin needed plumber. Breakfast buffet OK.
If you want any sleep at night and appreciate courteous service don't stay here. Reina from NY.
