4-5 score, fantastic B&B! Very friendly, welcoming and helpful owner in Mauro, very clean and comfortable. Perfectly situated in a large old building on the edge of old Palermo, ideal for sightseeing in this beautiful city. Easy access from the airport, we caught the airport bus which dropped us 5mins walk away at Teatro Politeama. Opposite the best gelateria, Brioscià, this you cannot miss. Many great bars and restaurants nearby, generally great value for money and I would recommend A'to Casa to anyone. Thank you Mauro!

Four to five (it may be more) rooms in a spacious flat in a beautiful town house with an ancient lift in the centre of Palermo – that's A'to Casa. The rooms are equipped with what is necessary, including free wifi and some provisions to kill the infamous Sicilian mosquitoes. The room I had (I seem to remember it was the Paris themed room) had a little balcony towards the street. There are two bathrooms in the flat and a separate toilet. The kitchen features a seemingly endless supply of yoghurt and coffee and even has a washing machine and a dryer. The owner, Mauro is a very friendly, cheer- and helpful, uncomplicated host. He was around in the mornings and when new guests arrived in the evening. He wouldn't accept that my knowledge of Italian is very, very limited and kept on talking Italian to me. But there weren't any problems; rather the opposite: I enjoyed staying at this place very much. All in all it felt more like visiting friends or friends of friends sharing a flat than staying at a hotel.

As soon as I told locals, when asking for directions, the name of this pension, it made them smile. And when I stayed there for a couple of nights earlier this month, I had to smile, too. It's right opposite the best ice cream parlour in town, Brioscia, and from the front balconies you can see in one direction the sea and in the other the mountains behind the city. The rooms are simply vast, high-ceilinged, lightly but effectively furnished, each with a different touch of home and international inflection.
The price is a bargain. You get perfect access into the heart of the 'new' town, while the old town is less than a quarter of an hour away on foot, through the spectacular streets of this majestic city. The host is great fun and does everything possible to ensure complete satisfaction. Although there were lots of other guests staying when I was there, somehow I never came across any using the bathrooms, and the breakfast tables were never crowded.
For those unfamiliar with this type of bed and breakfast: there is a heavy outer door - press the buzzer and ask to be admitted, and then part of the outer door opens; cross the elegant art nouveau hall, up a few steps, and into the period elevator, or climb the stairs; next, ring the right-hand apartment on the 3rd floor, and you're there; all the rooms have their own keys, but are all clearly part of the original turn-of-the-century apartment.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back are quieter, but I also slept perfectly well at the front.

Mauro's B&B is just a beautiful place to stay in Palermo! Central, comfortable, easygoing, clean and very welcoming! Whatever you need or would like to know, Mauro helps you out - and don't miss to try the best icecream in town on the other side of the street...

Everything is perfect! Location is central (just 300m from Teatro Massimo), spacious rooms with balconies and of course the most friendly host Mauro, the owner of this B&B who lives in the upper floor. At first I was a bit worried about the concept of 'shared bathroom' but this was clean so nothing to complain about. If you're a 'light sleeper' make sure to bring your earplugs with you. I have no problem whatsoever, but you'll never know....

The rooms were really cosy, clean and big.
The B&B is in the center of palermo, everything is easy to find. Restaurants, Bars and Shoppingpossibilities are close by.
Breakfest is included. The bathroom is a shared one, but its clean and well equipped.
Service was really nice and we felt warmly welcomed. If you have any questions you get help!
W-Lan is included and works pretty good.

Only thing is, if people come home late and they are noisy on the hallway, you can hear them or see the light, cause there is a window above your room door.

ALL IN ALL: we would recommend the A- to Casa! Enjoy your stay there!

friendly staff, large rooms, easy location. What else can you ask? Even breakfast is good (not amazing, though).
Overall, I suggest this place for 1-2 nights at most. Even more if traveling alone ;-)
If you can, try asking Maori for advice on what to see, he'll be happy to help!
