“Diamond in the rough”
Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for one night in July. All in all a good experience - very clean and nice rooms; we had a pleasant little (unfurnished) balcony. Room was clean and stylish (but the remains of an old kitchenette were still behind the otherwise tasteful closet doors - strange). As others have pointed out, the Brunaccini is not in the most exclusive neighbourhood, but we loved the location - the hustle and bustle of the market just a couple of minutes away, our room was nevertheless quiet and no problem getting a good night's sleep. Also only a 10 minute walk away from the Capella Palatina - an absolute must for anyone visiting Palermo. The only weakness was that staff was not as welcoming as they could have been, but there were no major problems.

My friend Susie and I were driving the entire Italian Coast line and came to Hotel Brunaccini...and were quite impressed as it's really quite a nice hotel with beautiful architecture. Yet, not in the best area. However, Francesco who is at the front desk...is REMARKABLE. He was the most OUTSTANDING front desk guy we came across in our 2 + week trip - he was so helpful, gave us great ideas and made sure for us to not miss the important landmarks. He answered every question with such thorough and thoughtful answers. He made our stay magnificent. On top of that, the breakfast was incredible - really very nice and in true Sicilian form. The room was super new and nice - and very spacious. Just know that the area is quite run down...but they claim it's safe and just in the backyard is a quite a plaza where we ate next to the "Mayor".

we stayed here for one night to experience Palermo ahead of our flights home. the hotel is very central although in a rather run down area. The room was large with a 4 poster and a balcony over the street which was great.

We didn't sample breakfast as our flight was early but the spread looked nice from what we saw.

Definitely stick your head in the door of the adjacent church, its very beautiful.

Room Tip: opt for a superior room with balcony.

Hi Kiltedmup!
Thank you for your kind review! We hope that you decide to spent more time in Palermo as soon as possible...so you can taste our delicious breakfast and our "little" cannoli that you can do and taste directly at breakfast time!
We look forward to meeting you again!

The Hotel itself was comfortable and the staff were very nice and helpful.
During our stay there was no restaurant or bar available, so in the evenings there was no choice but to go out for an evening meal. And this is the problem with this hotel, it is located in a drug controlled Ghetto. The narrow streets around are filthy and infested with drug dealers and their clients. Some of these clients are very young and vulnerable but some look very unsavoury and some downright scary.
If you must stay in Palermo I strongly recommend that you choose a hotel on one of the main streets.

Room Tip: We had a Junior Suite and it was only just a comfortable size with a partitioned off bedroom, anythi...

Dear Guest,
thank you for the time that you dedicate to us and for your positive comments about our Hotel!
We're sorry about the impression that you had about the sourrondings...!
But I ensure to you that it's not the same if you stay in a hotel on one of the main streets...because only in the very heart of the historical centre you can appreciate all the beautiful contrast of our city!
We hope to having you again as our guest!
Best regards

A beautiful boutique hotel with very comfortable rooms and helpful staff. It took us some time to find it since the GPS kept leading us around in circles. It is located close to the center in a very run down neighborhood.

Beautiful property, fantastic staff. An oasis in the somewhat boisterous city of Palermo. It appears that it's worth spending the extra few bucks to get an upgraded room. Also, it is literarily 30 feet from the Vucceria market (worth seeing)

Room Tip: Hard to get to by car (and we hope your car is small)
