This characterful Old building is situated in a typical narrow street but only yards from the via Roma, and a main bus route within easy walking distance are the Central Station street markets, elegant shops, beautiful Churches the diversity is amazing. Manilo and Manuela suggesting restaurants, make phone calls on your behalf.. They are a lovely young couple and with baby Manfreddy, they give you a glimpse of Scilian family life when they come in to do breakfast. The rooms are spotless, fresh towels offered daily and your own kitchen and sitting area accessible any time. A fresh fruit bowl water and facilities for making a hot drink all free. The showers are hot and spotless also.. Its an old building so no lift but stairs are shallow and easily accessible. Roof top views from apartment are lovely. We will be back next time we visit Sicily as we loved it so much. Jo David Coline and MiMi.

We could not have enjoyed our first taste of Sicilian hospitality any more. Manlio, Manuela and their baby, Manfredi, were delightful. They offered advice and support getting oriented to Palermo, suggestions for activities and restaurants, as well as wonderful breakfasts. Beautiful fruit plates fresh from the Ballaro Market (a must-see experience), fabulous pastries, cappuccino and fresh squeezed juice that is as good as it is beautiful.

Great location on a funky (bicycle) street near Teatro Massimo, and the train station. Our room (the triple with en-suite bath) was huge, very clean and quiet.

A delightful place to stay in Palermo, at a very affordable price. We felt very fortunate.

We recently spent 3 nights with Manlio and Manuela. Manlio picked us up at the airport for a reasonable fee and made us feel well cared for. The location of the palazzo was perfect for exploring Palermo, including our night out at Teatro Massimo and dinner at Frida, one of the many places that were recommended. Our room, which had the separate bathroom, was comfortable and tastefully decorated, and we loved the terrace that looked out over the rooftops. The bathroom was spacious and had plenty of hot water. Breakfast was lovely- freshly made blood-orange juice, delicious pastries and nice, strong espresso or capucchino. Manlio did a good job to orient us to the sites we wanted to see and provided maps. He and Manuela were warm and gracious hosts, in an appealing and interesting setting.

The location of La Via delle Biciclette is ideal for anyone who likes plunging themselves into the heart of Old Europe. The main streets of Via Maqueda and via Roma are a minute's walk away as are attractions such as Teatro Massimo. There is no need for cabs or public transport to experience everything Palermo has to offer. Manlio and Manuela are obliging hosts and sources of good advice about restaurants and charming nearby towns, such as Cefalu, which is well worth a day trip.
Breakfasts are feasts of fresh fruit and Sicilian pastries. Of the two rooms, the triple, comprising one double and one single bed, has its own bathroom attached. The double room has a balcony overlooking the street while its clean and well maintained bathroom is accessible through a common sitting room.

Room Tip: The double room has a balcony with city views. The triple room has en suite facilities.

We stayed here for 5 nights over Christmas. Manlio and Manuela are wonderful hosts and they rent only two rooms on the top floor of a 17th century palazzo. We loved staying with them. Manlio picked us up from the airport for a small fee. He speaks French, and so do I so we had great conversations about Palermo and its history. He advised us on many things to see and booked great tables for us for the holiday festivities. We were also able to hire him to drive us to Villa Casale Romana in Piazza Armerina (a must see for its incredible Roman mosaics), and he also drove us around for a day in Palermo. The b&b is very clean and the breakfast delicious. It's located in the old part of Palermo and very close to bus/train station and all major sites to see.

Room Tip: The room we had which is for 3 people has its own bathroom.
