Although I stayed only one night, I would recommend this B&B to anyone who visits Palermo. The staff, Ludovica and Angela, were very helpful and extremely gracious. I have stayed in hotels in Palermo in the past, but should I return there again I would only stay at Il Giardino. My single room was quite adequate in size, and the bathroom was very spacious. The breakfast was quite good.

We stayed here for a couple of nights with our son (seven months). It’s a truly family friendly place; we could use the kitchen to prepare the meals for the baby at any time. The staff and the owner are very helpful and friendly.

The B&B is centrally located in the Albergaria area with easy access to all sights within the center of Palermo. The Ballaro market is just a few minutes away from the B&B. Yes, there is street noise if you have one of the rooms facing Via Porta di Castro (that’s the trade-off for staying in the city and closing the window helps a lot). It’s rather difficult and confusing to get to the place if you are arriving by car. Parking on the street seems to be save – at least we parked car with foreign license plate on the street for four days).

Rooms are modern, clean and nicely decorated. You can enjoy the excellent breakfast either inside the nice breakfast room or outside in the garden. The garden is a quiet oasis and a per-fect place to relax with a glass of wine or a beer after a long sightseeing day.

No doubt, we would stay at the Il Giardino di Ballaro again. Great value for the money!

We stayed two nights as our honey moon across Sicily was coming to an end. The place is very close to Ballaro' (hence the name), which is the most active and genuine street market in Palermo. Although the area is super lively day and night the place was surprisingly calm and cosy. The room was very spacious, the bathroom clean and modern. The hall is very impressive and the inside garden where breakfast is served quite atmospheric. Breakfast was good. The staff excellent, professional and very helpful. The B&B is never left unattended. On our arrival, one of them even came to rescue us lost somewhere nearby in our car unable to make sense of Palermo's maddening one way system. Recommended.

Fantastic B&B in the middle of Palermo. Nice room and lovely decorated. Nice inner garden where they serve breakfast. Very nice host and receptionist. A place to recommend in the middle of this dirty but nice city. Wen you arrive in the neighborhood you think you made a mistake but there is nothing to be afraid of. Very good price-quality!

I stayed in this delightful hotel for a week at the beginning of September with seven friends who were visiting Palermo on an art appreciation trip. It was clean and easy to find and we were welcomed like old friends having emailed the hotel before our arrival to check details of our booking when they were most helpful and happy to communicate in English or Italian.

The garden is a simply delightful oasis in a very busy district on the edge of the Ballero market. Despite the busy street life around the hotel the rooms were very quiet and peaceful. I shared with a friend and we had a room that led onto the garden and had the benefit of two bathrooms and plenty of space for us not to fall over each other in the room. Breakfast was served from 7.30 - 10.30 and was a mixture of fresh fruit cold meat cheese fresh bread and pastries and some days we had home baked lemon cake. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. All variations of coffee and tea were provided and when I asked for lemon in my tea Angela went off to pick a fresh one from their tree.

Lovely reception area with comfy sofas where we met before going in search of the best restaurants for dinner each evening. The staff were so friendly and accommodating in all matters -maps were produced and restaurants recommended and we were never disappointed.

Do ask the staff to book your taxi to and from the airport as we paid 60 euros when we arrived and went to the taxi rank - instead of 40euros to the driver booked by the hotel to take us back to the airport when we left.

No lift in the hotel so you need to be able to manage the stairs.

Value for money was outstanding.

Location was perfect just a stone throw from the Duomo and most of the other major sites.

A recently renovated building in very good condition. Very elegant.

Stayed here just one night. Located in the old town, it is a welcoming oasis when you walk through the door. Peaceful lobby area with WIFI and great clean rooms. We were very pleased with this establishment. What really made it though was Ludovica and Angela! Very helpful and charming. Thanks again.

I have just spent a wonderful few days at this tasteful B and B, a converted stable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and there is a large bright reception area for guests. There is a delightful garden where guests can sit and eat breakfast. We were a small group and the staff could not have been more helpful in recommending restaurants, giving directions, train times etc. Angela and Ludovica deserve special mention. The surrounding area is quite "gritty", as described by other reviewers but this is a little oasis and close to the main historic sites. Another plus is a fabulous little restaurant directly behind the hotel. Family run, the delightful staff take great pride in their menu and fresh produce. We loved it!
