“Great location near Teatro Massimo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 March 2014

Good location. Near the market, you can always buy fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and of course fish. The apartment was comfortable, good mattress in the master bedroom, a TV with an HDMI output, the kitchen is also fully equipped, i had no problems with cooking Bed linen and towels were changed 2 times a week I think that is enough. The friendly hosts, one of the staff speaks English. Free and pretty fast wifi. Shower was a bit small, but fully functional.

This is a great location for a visit to Palermo. All the main sites in the city are within walking distance. Great situation in the Capo Market where you can get all you need. Accomodation is fine, plenty of room, although shower is a bit small.

Room Tip: The higher you are in the block the better the views over Palermo!

All the photos published on the website of that place are real- all facilities are indeed well equiped, rooms are clean. It is indeed a city centre. You can go by foot almost everywhere excluding sandy beach which is a few km out of city. There's a fish and fruit market just by the street on porta carini so you can buy fresh food there. Surprisingly everyday after closing the market they clean the street so there's even more clean then on other typical street of palermo. Owners are extraordinary polite and helpful, they treat everyone like the best friend. I am very satisfied with holiday I spent in this apartment and for sure I will come back there again.

Stayed for four nights in August, in a fantastic location overlooking a bustling food market-self catering is a great way to go in Palermo. Wonderful, friendly, kind owners and staff. Difficult to find, particularly at night when driving in an unfamiliar one-way system. Use reliable sat nav!!
Will definitely stay again.

We booked an apartment here after reading good reviews about it online. I can only add to those good reviews as the location is excellent, only a few minutes walk from Teatro Massimo and a bus terminus, where you can get a bus to virtually anywhere.
As our flight arrived late in the evening, we opted to be collected by car from the airport, which is some distance away from the city. The car was arranged by the proprietor, who was lovely: very friendly, helpful and efficient. We were driven straight to the apartments and given an apartment on the third floor, which was excellent: cool, clean and with everything we needed for a short break in Palermo. The Capo market is situated in lanes below the apartments, which is lively during the day, but noise was not a problem for us, and having such lovely fruit, veg and lots of other stuff right on the doorstep was fantastic. We stocked up with fresh fruit and veg before moving on to our next destination! The apartments are located within the old city walls, just inside an ancient gate, hence the name Porta Carini. Its an easy walk to virtually anywhere within the city from the apartments, and we even walked as far as the harbour. We also took the guided tour bus (stops a short distance away) the next day to get our bearings, which runs around the city, but you need to change buses to go up to Monreale Cathedral, but its worth the trip and the cathedral and views are spectacular!

Room: The apartment was better than I expected. Clean and modern and felt new! Everything was very clean including bathroom and kitchen. The bedroom had high ceilings and it was decorated to feel like you were in a home. Very nice ambiance especially when you are traveling!

Cleanliness: I would rate cleanliness Excellent.

Location: Central location not far from the Politeama, right in the middle of the Mercato del Capo. However, finding it at night proved very difficult for me and only finally seeing the signs on the street helped guide me. I was very lost for a while, and it seems like a sketchy area after dark, but I had no problems.

Review: This apartment was great. Modern and safe and it felt peaceful and quiet at night after all the Market vendors went home. During the day, it's a bustling area with lots of people shopping and tourists visiting the market. The staff was extremely helpful and kind to me. The father of the apartment manager checked me in and he was so kind and friendly and helpful. People like that just make you feel at home and welcome. I wished I could have stayed there longer because it was such a nice place.

The bathroom was clean and modern and up to date.

Value for Money: I would rate it Excellent on value for money. Very happy with this place even for a short stay.

Overall Experience: I would rate it Excellent.

We are a couple from Russia and spent in Casa Porta Carini 3 days. The location of the appartment is great, near to the Capo market, where we could buy fruits and vegetables, also not far from the historical center and the bus station whis is near Teatro Massimo. By bus you can reach the railway station in 7 minutes. The appartment was very clean, lovely and quiet. Our balcony showed to the yard, not to the market. The owners are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We recommend this apartment to everybody, as we did a very good experience and were happy with our choice.
