“Start of a lovely Vacation”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

We stayed at the Tonic a total of 4 nights - 3 at the beginning of our tour of Sicily and one at the end. The staff could not have been more helpful. Before we got to Sicily we had to notify them of 3 transfer changes - due to air strikes in Milan. We ended up cancelling all transfers and got a taxi at PMO - arriving at 1:30 am. We had a big, comfortable, quiet room. The next morning we had a great breakfast and a good bit of assistance planning our day. The night we returned to the Tonic, we had a beautiful room and were greeted early in the am with packed breakfast to take to the airport. We will return.

Room Tip: The Klimt room is lovely.

Very helpful and friendly staff, good breackfast, comfortable room, hotel located close to all main visiting places, surprize with small present from a hotel. Very easy to find from main train station (go on Via Roma about 12 min)

We stayed here for 3 nights total -- once at the beginning of a tour, and then 2 nights at the end of a tour around Sicily. The first night's stay was very good. However, when we came back at the end of our tour around Sicily, the room we were assigned was not very good. The room itself (#406) was large and nice, but the king-size bed was very uncomfortable. It didn't really have a mattress on it, only a box spring with a very thin layer of "mattress-covering" on top of it. The hotel was full, so they could not move us to another room, but promised they would the next day. I slept on the twin-sized bed in the corner which was OK, and my husband tried to get some sleep on the larger bed. It was an uncomfortable night for him. They did move us the next day to another room (#403), which was very comfortable. The hotel has a great location, and it's easily walkable to many sites. Breakfast was very good and had a good variety. Staff was friendly.

Room Tip: Beware of the bed in room #406

Service fine, room poor. Bathroom had mold up the walls, place stank of smoke, rooms were old and tired. Also, expect a lot of road noise. You have to sleep with the window shut and air con on. Finally, it wasn't cheap! My advice is, look else where. You can do a lot better when exploring brilliant Palermo.

Great location in Palermo Stayed 3 nights in 2 different rooms. Room was clean and air conditioning worked great. Beds are very firm and our bathroom floor was raised in the first room which was a concern. Plenty of Hot Water in the shower and the more I write the hotel was fine. A good solid place while touring. Very good breakfast.

Stayed here for three nights while on a recent Rick Steve's tour. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable, and within walking distance of many of Palermo's sights. Although located on a fairly busy street, the internal shutters were fantastic at shutting out both the light and the sound. Large balconies were perfect for drying out our laundry :)

We stayed at the Hotel Tonic for three nights and were very pleased. Its location is excellent for exploring Palermo on foot. We had a balcony so we could take in the hustle and bustle of the city, but our room was quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep. When we go back to Palermo, we’ll stay there again.
