Our stay at Hotel Regina was better than expected. The rooms are small but really cute. The traffic is really loud, but you get used to it. One bathroom for I don't know how many rooms, but it wasn't that big of a problem. We arrived in Palmero around midnight and walked from the Central Station, which takes about 15 minutes. We were petrified of the city, as two young females traveling together. We arrived at Hotel Regina around 12:20pm, and thankfully the reception was still open. They say they are open 24 hours, but they are actually closed from Midnight until 7:00am, unless otherwise stated. Palmero is super sketchy and I wouldn't mind not going back, but if you're going to Palermo, Hotel Regina is good for the price.

Staff is very helpful , it's ok for two nights as rooms has no aircon and they need new decoration.
It's value for money but noisy.

I would like to warn you, and your readers, of this dreadful, cheating hotel. We booked to stay with them on 2 nights (10 and 16 September 2009) at 60 euro pernight. 3 months before our proposed stay they wrote advising me they had changed their email address. They are so incompetent that they sent me the WRONG email address!! Thus my 3 emails sent regarding our stay - and, crucially, the email sent in August CANCELLING our reservation - received no response. As a result we had to hastily find another hotel (The Gardenia which I would recommend on all counts) and had an excellent week in Sicily.

Imagine our surprise then to find that The Regina had billed us 300 euro (sic) on 11 September for our "no show"!!!!! Despite numerous emails they have refused to explain why they sent an inaccurate new email address (I have their email proving that they did), why they withdrew 5 times the agreed amount for our not staying on 1 night and nor have they refunded my money.

This Hotel is I suspect corrupt and incompetent and i strongly advise all your readers to steer well clear of it.

Very good located near all the nicest stuff to see in old Palermo.
Room common but not sure about the cleanliness of everything. Quite noisy. Poor bathroom.
Parking in the neighbourhood is kind of a nightmare and can cost a lot. Hotel can help you with where to park (city map).
Strange that you need to ring two times to get in - 3 security doors before you actually enter the hotel!

Nice little hotel, great location. You could practically walk to every important place in Palermo. The price is really good, and despite you have to share a bad room, everything is clean. Even though the check out is at 10 o'clock, you can leave your things at the front desk and puck them up later.
I really enjoyed staying here!

We stayed here for 3 nights in October 2008. We arrived in Palermo by train and wasn't real sure where the hotel was, so we took a taxi. But we really didn't need to, even for me it was walkable from the train station with luggage. The only real problem I had were the 46 stairs going up to the hotel. Our room was tiny with two very small twin beds. The only chairs in the room were metal folding chairs. But the location was great. It was very near the center of the old part of town. It was also an easy walk from the hotel to catch a ferry to Sardenia. There were many places to eat close by. For the price, this was a good hotel.
