Like many guests arriving from the airport or at the end of a trip this is 25Km or so away. Up away from the centre - a great view at sunrise showed a lovely panoramic view. The restaurant was good too. All our needs were met by a the very friendly reception team and a large well kept room was beyond the price we were paying - exceptional value and a great staff.
Breakfast was the only think that was 3 star.

We rented a car at the airport and, even with Garmin, it was difficult to find and the locals' English was too limited to be of much help. Finally made it tho. Driving up reminded us of a 50s Howard Johnson! We were a little hesitant till we got inside. We did not realize that this was the top of the hotel and the levels were -1, -2, etc. The views were spectacular from everywhere. Our room was much larger than the traditional European rooms, clean as could be, with plenty of closet space. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was quite good and reasonably priced. Pool area was beautiful but it was too cool for us to use it. We would definitely stay there again.

The Hotel Bel3 proudly displays its 4* Trip Advisor status, and it deserves it. For a 3*hotel, and for the money we paid, it’s a bargain. There is another point of view; the kind of hotel it is, and its position, dictate the kind of holiday you have, and this needs commenting on.
The hotel is lovely. Our room (111) was large, spotlessly clean, comfortable, with free wi-fi, a decent bathroom with a bath, and a magnificent view over the entire sweep of Palermo below, and the sea beyond. Quite honestly, the view alone sells the room. The staff members were lovely too: accommodating and charming. Some may find their English limited, but I know that the Italian for croissant is “cornetto”, so I’m an expert. Breakfast was adequate: no hot food, but plenty of choice, even though it was a bit samey, day-to-day. Lovely coffee, sherbetty orange juice, nice bread, ham, cheese, yoghurts, local fruit, cornettos (just 3 types; one “empty”) cereals, pastries.
The restaurant is good too: plenty of menus to choose from, including pizza or an 18 euro set meal.(There are very few places to eat in the locality: one restaurant up the hill and one or two bars and small shops about 10 minutes’ walk away,) Free parking, and you can park on the road when you have to. Outside pool – not an option in February. Not a great hotel for kids. The room had a hairdryer and a flat-screen TV, with masses of channels, all Italian. Take something to entertain yourselves in the evening, unless you’re a fan.

The Bel3’s position is both its biggest advantage and disadvantage. It was quite hard to find in the dark (30km from the airport)
Tip 1: hire a car – you’ll need to. Do it from Britain – it’s cheaper – and invest in collision damage waiver additional insurance. Shop around on line for this. It was hard for me to adapt to the Italian driving style. They take no prisoners, and roads are poorly signposted. Palermo is difficult to drive in, I found, and the road up to the hotel, once you found it, was challenging.
Tip 2, take a satnav. Even with its limitations, we would have been lost (literally) without one. We had a week’s package holiday, and there’s not nearly enough in Palermo itself to fill the time. So we explored. Sights are well spread out in Sicily, and distances long.
Tip 3: get the best guide book you can, and a really good road map.

To sum up, the limitations of the Bel3 are outweighed by the advantages. It’s really an excellent place to stop over, or have a city break, for which it would be ideal. We used the hotel as a base to tour around the western side of the island, and had a great holiday.

Room Tip: Room 111 was lovely. Hire a car, take a satnav, a good road map and guidebook.

The rooms were spacious, clean, with a small balcony and a magnificent view of Palermo, the mountains, and the sea. Parking was secure, but tight. Staff professional and helpful. Breakfast was OK, with good coffee from the bar. It could have been better with more local products and fresh citrus fruit, which is abundant during the winter months.

Due to the chaotic traffic, it is difficult to find the hotel the first time, even though the hotel signs are numerous and well-placed. See other reviews for more complete instructions. After the first time, it is less of a challenge. The road up to the hotel is narrow, curvy, and depressingly full of overflowing garbage bins. Quite dangerous at night. However, once you arrive at the hotel and admire the view, you forget the tribulations to get there.

The hotel is a good base for trips in the region.

This hotel was very nice the rooms were very clean and the staff members were very friendly and helpful it felt more like home than a hotel. The breakfast I didn’t really like but there was plenty of choice. It is quit far from the airport about 40 minutes be were of taxi drivers trying to rip you off! it should cost 45-50 euros to get to the hotel. My fiancée and I went in April 2012 as a last minute holiday package deal and it was well worth the price…the people we met there were amazing they really made the holiday wonderful.
I will not recommend this place for young children it’s in the hills the food is also not the best but it’s still good. You will have to go into the city canter via bus but it was a great experience would love to go again.

Room Tip: not ideal if you do not like hights! all rooms are on a hill

Arrived late at night, staff very Friendly and helpful at the frontdesk, most speak english and if they don't somebody comes to help out.
Give us tips to visit and were to park in the city. Parking is limited, leave your key, they put your car inbetween others , and tell them how late you want to leave, the car is ready at your service.
Staying at this hotel you really need a car. there is a bus terminal at the end of the road, but getting there at night is at your own risk as there are almost no street lights.
The rooms are medium sized , basic and clean, nothing to say ,the bathroom also had no remarks, clean and functional .There was no WIFI connection in our room, but there was in the hallway, restaurant and reception.we had a room at the back of the hotel with a large balcony and a great View.
The swimming pool is small and sun chairs are rapidly taking early in the morning , but I guess if your visiting palermo you don't really need a hotel with a pool.
The restaurant is not high standard, but it's not that bad, there are however better restaurants in the city at the same price.
Breakfast was ok for Italian standards, don't expect a English breakfast with sausage and bacon, but they had good bread, ham and cheese. The breakfast room was insite, but there are a few tables outside on the roof.
there is absolutely nothing in the area , so you will need a car to get somewhere, al in all a decent, hotel for the price .
one bad remark is the dog's from the home owners below the hotel that keep barking all night.. but this has nothing to do with the hotel.

Room Tip: try to get a room in the back of the hotel
