“Perfect Location - Wonderful Host Family”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

Our hosts made our trip to Sicily a memorable one. A beautifully decorated home with great space to relax and share conversations. The breakfasts provided were absolutely delicious and gave us the start we needed each day to go out and enjoy Palermo. The host's willingness to meet our every need made our stay wonderful and easy.

Parking nearby was simple. We left the car for two days and walked everywhere. Many options for eating in the neighborhood.

This is a wonderful B&B. We spent a amazing time thanks to Antonella and her very comfortable B&B. She is very friendly, the B&B is well located and so beautiful. If you travel in Palermo this is the place to stay.

My wife and I met up with American relatives in Palermo and selected Museo Salinas on the strength of other reviews. The B&B is located close to the Theatro Massimo and is an oasis of calm in the chaos that is Palermo. One is struck first by the quality of the modern design and comfortable, spacious rooms with a small, covered open court. Then one is struck by the friendliness and care of the hosts, policeman Mauro and his delightful wife, Antonella who treat you not as guests, but as friends. And this is the secret of the success of Museo Salinas; everything else follows because you want your friends to enjoy their breakfast, you make them drinks when they come home and you even give them a beer! In a small B&B, this personal and high quality provision makes all the difference.

Located off one of the narrow, busy streets, Museo Salinas is right by some reasonable, but not terrific, street restaurants. While we preferred to go wider afield (and Antonella will always have recommendations), we found that, arriving on the airport bus and not wanting to spend an age looking for somewhere to eat, it was great to be able to wander downstairs and get a meal and wine at a decent price. And, on the cost of wine - it is soooooo cheap; we brought back two litres of reasonable cheapo red wine - and had change from €5!!!

We were here for a long weekend and we able to have a really relaxing time - even helped by the musical neighbours practicing for a performance at an open window. If we find ourselves in Palermo again, we will not even look for somewhere else to stay.

Palermo can be a trying place. However 'B and B Salinas' is a wonderful refuge. The rooms are clean, quiet, modern, well kept and cared for. The owner, an Interior Architect herself, designed and refurbished the building with perfect taste. Location is great.
Double check directions given, and map it via Google Maps or such. The owner takes great interest in the welfare of her guests. A case in point: beware of the many 'street' tratoria nearby. Don't fall prey to the 'barkers' who try tom get you in. Research your restaurants and have a wonderful experience. Much has been written about the dangers of Palermo. Travel smart, and relax. Listen to the warnings but don't panic. It's just a big city. Take the same precautions that you might in New York or Paris, and enjoy this extraordinary city.

We recently stayed at Bed and Breakfast Museo Salinas and were very happy with our choice. The location is in the city centre near the opera house but it was a very quiet apartment and had a lovely courtyard. Our room was very clean and modern and fitted out to a very high standard. The breakfast was very generous and the owners were extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and things to do in Palermo. Excellent B&B

Although my wife and I stayed at Museo de Salinas B&B just one night, we found Mauro and Antonella to be such friendly and hospitable hosts that it felt like we had known them our whole life. The room was immaculately clean, spacious and well-designed, a tribute to Antonella who is an architect. They went out of their way to make our stay fabulous. Their recommendations of places to eat and visit were spot on, and Mauro went out of his way on Saturday to drive us to the Hertz Rent-a-Car office. We had a lovely breakfast on their terrace with fresh, delicious Sicilian pastries. I highly recommend this B&B.

My bf and I spend 2 nights at this lovely bed and breakfast at we absolutely loved it!
The location was absolutely the MOST central you could ask for, right in front of Teatro Massimo. The rooms are bathroom are brand new, decorated with style and as good as a 5-star-hotel. The a/c works perfectly and very silent. Antonella, the lovely person who runs the B&B is a wonderful person, very kind and genuinely deducated to make our experience perfect. The price is also very attractive. I truly recommend this place!
