“Lovely ceilings”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

We enjoyed the visit especially as aged EU citizens we got in free. The ceilings on the first floor were lovely. The private apartments on the second were rather dreary & where did they sleep?

“A wonderful place”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

Went here almost by accident as it scarcely gets a mention in the guide books. A 18th century aristocratic town house with the interior just as it used to be. Plans for restoration but see it now!

“Palermo's hidden gem”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

We forgot about siesta time and had to wait a short while before being allowed in but this was a treasure worth waiting for. A superbly decorated and preserved Sicilian villa in the centre of Palermo the Palazzo Mirto is hidden behind Carrefour's supermarket. It has a rich variety of rooms with ornate decorations, portraits and wall hangings. The standard of preservation is high quality with only the occasional musty odour of antiquity.
A thoroughly enjoyable hour or so. Recommended.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed 28 July 2013

Opulence and decay in one- I've spent there good hour or so.

Unfortunately taking pictures is not allowed and guides don't speak English, but still, it's not to be missed. Make sure to take some small change for the tickets.

“Don't miss this!”
Reviewed 11 July 2013 via mobile

One of the best things we did on this trip to palermo (our 2nd visit). Gives you the opportunity to see what life was like for the very wealthy in this city. Such extravagance and beauty! It's really worth seeing
