Stunning and the villa houses the original pieces of furniture, artworks, etc that the family used during their life there. It would've been great to have access to an English speaking guide as we would certainly have benefitted from this visit more. Luckily one of the staff managing the Palazzo made himself available in providing some interesting insight to life in the Palazzo. Well worth a visit.

We were advised to go and visit this Palazzo, but did so on a Monday. It is shut on Mondays, but a lot of the literature we had did not state this. Learn from us please.
The lady who found us outside cursing our luck, took us under her wing, and gave us a personal tour (in broken Italian) of the local historical museum. She was pure gold, thank you to the unknown lady. Our time was not wasted after all.

This former home is fully decorated, with original silk wallpaper, and even a dozen carriages in the stable. It was one of the few places we visited with an English guidebook - which was helpful for us. We happily wandered from room to room for over an hour. Make sure not to miss the kitchen and the stables - the stables have better artwork than many mansions.

When you arrive in Piazza Marina, Palermo, Palazzo Mirto is nearby. In this amazing two storey palace we have the chance to see the daily life of a powerful sicilia family, The Filangeri-Mirto household that was in touch with the princess Josè of Savoy relative of the king of Italy. Each room
is perfect equipped according the purpose and the collections of various bronze items are remarquable. You must visit this treasure.

This is a very interesting place. There's lots and lots of rooms and two floors so there is a lot to see. It was fairly quiet when we were there so we could explore in our own time. There are so many treasures and works of art so there's a lot to learn too. We also saw some students from a university working on the restoration of some pieces which was a nice view into the work that goes into the artefacts. There was a lot more there than we expected so it took a bit more time than we thought it would, but it really depends how much you want to look and learn about the things there.
