Impressive building, you can look around and enjoy the architecture. Nice place to visit while you're going through the city highlights.

It is the biggest Opera House in Italy built after the Unification of Italy in Neoclassical style. It is beautiful inside and outside but your mind would call back the end of the movie The God Father

We were staying opposite the Teatro at Palco Rooms and Suites and the magnificent view from our rooms drew us in. We took the guided tour and it was really worthwhile. The interiors are stunning and our guide was most informative.

Visited in the middle of winter so fewer people around in the museums, churches, etc. Intriguing to see some of the older buildings that seemed very makeshift, i.e. no renovations, just bits cemented onto the original buildings. However, all very historic and got a real feeling of ancient Italy and all that had gone before.
