I booked a table in this place but was surprized that they decided not to work at that night (maybe due to football champ.) while they has the other days off. Went round the corner to the other place. :(

The starter of sformato with pumpkin, zucchini and herbs was outstanding; delightful pastas; semifreddo with Marsala and raisins was a terrific end. Proprietor has a super-interesting background.

A small, intimate, cellar setting. Fresh ingredients. The proprietor is the chef and he waits on your table himself! This was the first restaurant we tried in Sicily and it set the stage for all the rest of our food experiences there after. Here we learned about the various Sicilian wines that would be available to us during our trip; the selections are good ones, and well-priced. The food is very Sicilian with special little twists in creativity. Vincenzo Clemente prepares delicious food in a comfortable, low-key setting. The evening we were there, he was also hosting some friends and family, and we felt taken care of as if we were friends or family too!

Our first dinner in Palermo, taken there by our tour guide. There were several courses and everyone really liked their food. The house wine was quite adequate and the service and setting was excellent. Highly recommended.

What an experience this was! We made a reservation, though didnt need one as its really the off season in Sicily and most restaurants had plenty of tables. We were greeted by Vincenzo Clemente - a Sicilian through and through, though raised in Baton Rogue LA (Sicilians and southerns have a LOT of similarities!) He made us feel welcomed right away!

Each course was presented with care and prepared with the freshest ingredients! My husband had tuna in Puglia a few weeks earlier that he still talked about how bad it was - Vincenzo had him try Sicilian tuna for redemption. Wow was he spot on! The swordfish medallions I had were just amazing as well!

The wine suggestion was perfect. A Cerasuolo di Vittoria. A new favorite of mine! And the desserts.... I still dream of the pistachio semifreddo!

I look forward to coming back to Palermo someday soon - and I will definitely eat here again and even take their cooking class!
