First of all, at €5 per sandwich the master maker doesn't charge enough. It's an enormous sandwich, easily enough for 2 or 3 people, and contains countless ingredients including cheeses, olives, tomatoes, lettuce, parsley, oregano, salt, lemon juice, and a combo he called "Siracusa Sushi" which was sliced meat and cheese rolled around a big dollop of potato salad. The entertainment value of watching him perform his craft and banter with the crowd made it worth it for us. It helps if you understand a bit of Italian because the guy is very funny.
Skip this attraction if you're in a hurry and just want to be served your meal and left alone. True, the sandwich master's showmanship makes for slow service, but lsck of efficiency is more than made up for by the numerous free samples, his fonte di gioia and watching him fix those incredibly knoshable behemoths. Will definitely go back for a visit
