Description: street food of Ortigia. Dairy Borderi serves a wide range of products and typical Sicilian cheeses made by hand. We are in the market of Ortigia, and the place we serve our sandwiches and platters. We carry out the catering service and ship all over the world.

We stopped by at Syracuse market at around 8am to prepare our lunch for a day's boating. Happily the long lunch line we had seen the previous day at Caseificio Borderi was gone. The sandwiches turned out to be enormous and delicious, every bite offered a new combination of flavours.
Great value and a great atmosphere.

First of all, at €5 per sandwich the master maker doesn't charge enough. It's an enormous sandwich, easily enough for 2 or 3 people, and contains countless ingredients including cheeses, olives, tomatoes, lettuce, parsley, oregano, salt, lemon juice, and a combo he called "Siracusa Sushi" which was sliced meat and cheese rolled around a big dollop of potato salad. The entertainment value of watching him perform his craft and banter with the crowd made it worth it for us. It helps if you understand a bit of Italian because the guy is very funny.

Skip this attraction if you're in a hurry and just want to be served your meal and left alone. True, the sandwich master's showmanship makes for slow service, but lsck of efficiency is more than made up for by the numerous free samples, his fonte di gioia and watching him fix those incredibly knoshable behemoths. Will definitely go back for a visit

The atmosphere was electric with market goers, stall sellers yelling and musicians nearby. we sat outside and ordered the large sharing platter of salumi and cured fish with a dessert of cannoli in espresso cups of ricotta - divine, DONT MISS OUT.

Amazing fresh deli in a roll. The owners are amazing hosts, and to top it all the fresh panini are amazingly tasty. Be ready to wait in line at lunch time, but it's well worth it! Right in the heart of the food market with easy parking by the old prison.
