“Discreet and charming”

The hotel really is where the maps say it is, but there is no sign; just a discreet brass plate by the bell.

Parking is quite easy in surrounding streets.

Our room faced the inner courtyard and was peaceful; very nicely adapted old building.

Great location and fantastic value. Walking distance to Ortigia (5-10min), clean and private rooms. Internet was not the most reliable, but other than that had a great time. Inviting and helpful staff.

Excellent location, very close to all tourist attractions. Although on a major road, hotel very quite. Had a room on ground floor with a door to the yard. Shower a bit small but very clean. Air conditioned and we also had a small fridge. Very nice owner and staff. Very clean with cleaning lady every day. Very good choice at breakfast. Would recommend without hesitation.

The only positive thing to say is it's a 5 minute walk into town. The 'hotel' is buried inside a large building, therefore not easy to locate. The room we had on the ground floor was damp and smelled. Breakfast was very poor with limited choice and coffee was the worst in two weeks on the island. Overall very disappointing. Would not recommend, there must be better places to stay in the town.

Well located for getting to centre of Ortigia, super-friendly staff. Breakfast decent but coffee not so great. Room was large and comfortable. But traffic noise from main street was very noticeable. Bathroom ok but a bit aged and plumbing not perfect.

Room Tip: Don't choose a room overlooking the main street - beware traffic noise

This hotel is conveniently located in a historic building a short walk down the Corso Umberto to Ortigia. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our rooms were large, comfortable and well-appointed. We were three, so instead of the room we expected, we got an apartment. The ceilings are very high, which I imagine helps with the heat in summer. Our rooms looked out onto the street, which was reasonably quiet, considering it is an important street. There are also rooms on the courtyard, but we did not see them.
It's a lovely place. We'll book in the Casa Mia without hesitation next time we're in Siracusa.

Although I had high expectations based on reviews, the Piccolo Hotel Casa Mia sufficed, but did not excel, during our August visit. The location is great for exploring Syracusa on foot. It is approximately equidistant from the Ortigia Island and the Archeological Park. The hotel offers two free reserved parking spaces, but they were never available when we visited. Fortunately, free public street parking is available nearby. Our room was just OK. It was on the ground floor and our window opened into a tall window well. We could see light, but not much more. It was quite small and simply decorated with exposed areas, presumably to show the age of the building. In my opinion, it looked like the wall had deteriorated and the paint and plaster fell off. The bathroom did not function well. Hot water took forever to arrive and had little pressure when it did. The public area on the first floor was nicely decorated in the style of beautiful villas. Breakfast was served in this attractive area with seating here and on an outside pathway. Breakfast was good with a reasonable selection of food, but we found ants enjoying the apple cake on the buffet table. I can honestly say that this was our least-favorite hotel out of four weeks in Italy.
