Clean, comfortable room in an old building that has seen better days. There is evidence that this was once a bustling place but now the reception is closed--you go to the Hotel Livingston to check in--the small bars on two floors do not function, and the terraces have a variety of plastic and metal chairs, and a couple of worn tables. Breakfast was via a ticket at the corner cafe--your choice of a beverage and a pastry. Fortunately, the cafe is quite nice--attentive service and a wide choice of pastries. The public spaces in the B&B are down at the heels, but with the provisos understood, this is a clean, well-located place, to stay that is a pretty good value for the money.

This hotel was one of the nicest I have had the opportunity to visit. Prices were too low to reflect how well appointed the rooms were. The staff was lovely and very helpful. Especially Maria. Can't say enough nice things about this place. Not sure the mattresses were not Temperpedic.

We found this B&B after looking around at a few places. It was wonderful and Maria was so amazing and helpful. We were travelling with 3 kids (6yrs, 4yrs and 2 yrs) but we were never made to feel a nuisance and looked after so nicely. Maria can recommend good authenic restaurants and makes a great cappucino. We loved it in Syracuse so much we didn't want to leave. Sicilians are so lovely with kids. Room very comfortable, clean and roomy. Would stay here again!! Restaurant in the courtyard lovely too and spoilt us - our kids and ourselves came out with gifts. Very kind

We arrived in Syracuse without a booking and my wife looked at 10 or so places while I sat with the bags. This was by far the best place in town in our price range. The position was great, right in the middle of town. The room was quiet, spacious and clean (with a fridge, as one of the other reviews mentions). It is a hotel in an interesting building, not a B&B (lots of 3 and 2 star hotels in Sicily seem to think that adding B&B to their name is the right thing to do). Good buffet breakfast and extremely helpful staff. Highly recommended - look no further.

Acropoli is one of our discoveries of this summer. The hotel is very clean, very well located in the right center of Ortigia, nicely decorated in an old palace. Of course the rooms giving to the street are rather noisy at night. But at the reception, Maria is very effective and helpful. A real must!

Acroploi B&B was recommended to us by a friend who had stayed there the previous year. We were delighted with the B&B. Our room was spacious and spotless with attention to detail which you do not expect from Italian hotels of this rating.A bonus was a working bar fridge in our room - just great for keeping drinks cool! Our room had the use of a private courtyard - fantastic for a drink or a quiet, casual dinner.
The bathroom was modern and very clean with spotless towels changed daily.
The location of the Acropoli is perfect for exploring Ortigia with our host Maria very helpful in recommending sights, places to eat and where to get the perfect coffee.
The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure dealing with Maria as nothing was too much trouble.
Highly recommended. Would definitely stay there on any future visit to Siracusa.

This was the nicest B&B we stayed in during our 3 week trip to Sicliy. Maria, who manned the front desk was always friendly and so helpful with whatever we needed. The location was central to everything in Ortegia which made it a great base to operate from. The room was very comfy and always clean. The shower was just the best after a day of biking. This place really was a fabulous find.
