“WONDERFUL!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2013

5 star all the way! Aamazing owner who makes sure all his guests are well taken care of. Boutique hotel, modern, sleek and spotless. We stayed on the first floor and had a private balcony which came in handy after a long day of exploring. Was also fabulous to have a fridge to cool our vino so when we retuned a glass on the balcony was just what we needed. Breakfast is in the common area, which is comfortable and has beautiful large couches for lounging. Food was great, fresh cappiccino every morning started the day off wonderfully. Location is absoluty perfect, close to eveything, great food, market and shopping! Cannot say enough wonderful things about this property or the owner. Will DEFINATLY be returning, Thank You so very much!

Room Tip: will a balcony, first floor, nice touch to sit out and drink wine after your day! All rooms are beau...

Palazzo del Sale is stylish without seeming to try too hard. It is an inventive and low-key adaptive re-use of a historic building in a sublimely beautiful historic quarter that has been allowed to fall into near-ruin, but seems on the verge of a renaissance. Mod-cons are a bit compromised in the interests of preserving the charm of the building but that is at it should be. If only all the restorations can be as good as this one, the world will be beating a path to lovely Siracusa. For lovers of understated quality rather than glitz.

We stayed three nights in this wonderful place. Great rooms, very clean and in very good taste. The owners were kind and helpful The breakfast room and the food were fantastic. One of the few places that served us freshly squeezed orange juice.

We visited Sicily in October and this was the best place we stayed. We had the room on the picture which is large, light and airy with good storage. The breakfasts were the best we had in Sicily. The location is great too. Reliable restaurant recommendations especially Calliope.
You can park pretty near so lack of parking on the street was not an issue. Highly recommended.

My partner and I stayed at Palazzo del Sale over New Year 2012/3. This B&B has an attractive interior; I particularly liked the breakfast room/sitting room which was a pleasant place to relax after a busy day exploring fascinating Ortygia (old Siracusa). Breakfast was good. Our room was spacious and had a mezzanine level with 2 single beds in addition to the double below. The showerroom was acceptable but would have benefitted from better lighting; the shower itself was very good. There was no problem with noise. In retrospect I would have preferred one of the rooms with balcony or terrace, although I suspect that street noise might have been an issue (although there is not so much traffic in the old town). The location of the Palazzo is very good too. Giovanni was extremely helpful and recommended a good restaurant for one of the nights of our stay. If I were to return to Siracusa, I would certainly consider staying at the Palazzo del Sale again.

We stayed 2 nights in 2 different rooms, all we can say is that the rooms are very modern and quite spacious. There is plenty of food for the breakfast. Giovanni was very friendly and helpful, he told us where to eat and we were not disapointed by his choice

We spent 2 nights here on our 10-day trip through Sicily, and although we stayed in several very nice spots, this was my absolute favorite. I'm not sure why I loved it so much. Giovanni is very friendly and the location in Ortigia is great. I was worried about arriving by car but it wasn't a problem. You can take lovely walks around the old city, and every view is fantastic.
There was just something about our room at the Palazzo, high-ceilings, airy, warm, with a little balcony onto the street, which was just perfect. The common area had the same feeling. Beautiful design without feeling design-y. Highly recommended.
