“good bed and breakfast”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

Lovely hosts full of good information on Ortigia - where to go,where to eat etc.

If you are driving, make sure you know where to park the car (cheaper at weekends but still expensive for a couple of days and the machine only accepts coins ) and make sure you have a map to find the B and B

perfectly placed in Ortigia for everywhere, good breakfast. Room was nice with good bathroom - windows pointing inwards so difficult to get a draught if its hot.

Inexpensive. Heartily recommend.

Room Tip: The higher the room, the more airy it will be.

We spent two nights at La Corte Degli Angeli in Ortigia, Syracuse this August. Overall I very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Location- perfect, just couldn't be better. On a small street in the middle of the historical center of Syracuse. Be sure to ask for exact directions, and it could be difficult to find. With directions we had no problems.

Rooms- both the bedroom that we had and the rest of the house (dining room, living room, terrace) were prettily decorated. All the necessary amenities were there, including a hairdryer.

Breakfast- the best we had in Italy, including a large variety of pastries, jams, nutella, yogurts, great coffee/tea. Served in a lovely dining room, where we got to chat with other guests in the morning.

Hosts- we mostly dealt with Carlos, and he was very nice and accommodating. He provided us with all the information we requested, including recommendations on where to eat and what to see/do while in Syracuse. He definitely made us feel at home.

Room Tip: We stayed in the green room, and thought that it was perfectly comfortable, with a small hallway, ni...

If you choose to stay in Ortigia, this a good place for enjoying the old historical center.

The house style is baroque, in line with the surrounding architecture (so, if you like a simple, minimalist style, look for something else...).

Breakfast was excellent, with fresh pastries every morning.

My only complaint is that rooms are not sound-proof, and we were disturbed by some noise from other guests.

Beautiful palace, perfect location, but maybe I went there the wrong day, as I did not feel particularly welcome or comfortable. Our room was beautiful, but small and hard to ventilate, as the only window gives to a small inner court. The dining room was nice, but so full of stuff that it was difficult to move around. The living room looks nice in the pictures, but I don't think it is available for guests. Music playing at siesta time and in the morning. A kind of wake up call I do not really enjoy.

A fantastic bed and breakfast in Ortigia, well appointed with beautiful artwork and sculpture all within the confines of a stunning old residence with a private courtyard in the center and a terrace to relax on after a busy day of wandering Ortigia's lanes. Comfortable and cozy room with a mini-fridge and a typically cozy bathroom. Great breakfast.

The 2 owners, especially Carlos, are extremely kind, helpful (trust their dinner recommendations!) and do a great job of negotiating the ever-intricate world of guest-owner relations: they'll leave you in peace if you'd like but they'll be just as happy to have a great conversation, or give you kind-hearted pointers on your (horrible) Italian!

Just stay here and see, you'll be happy. A place very befitting of the gorgeous Siracusa.

Say hi to the gatto, Baggio, and the friendly terrace turtle for us.

My husband and I stayed at this charming B&B for one night (we wish we could have extended our stay!) Located just off the main street in the old town of Syracuse, I don't think I have stayed in a B&B styled with such amazing taste - the breakfast dining table and the reading room just stunning.
We were offered the choice of two rooms on arrival - we selected the room up the stairs and next to the roof terrace. My husband is 6+ foot tall so the door openings and the bathroom was rather small (for him), but the overall character of this B&B made up for this.
A lovely touch from the owners is that the fridge - filled with juice, water and beer - was offered complimentary. Needless to say we enjoyed the beers on the roof terrace in the sun.
Breakfast was a lovely Sicilian fair, cakes, pastries, coffee, all set with silverware on the dining room table and served with a smile.
The seafood dinner recommendation from the owner was superb.

Located close to the main street of old syracusa this charming b&b is filled with artistic displays, paintings, plates, statues and exquisite furniture. Rooms are varied in size and decoration. there is a dining room and a lounge for guests as well as a rooftop terrace. Plenty of light inside, attentive hosts, generous breakfast of mostly sweet sicilian style pastries and an easy location for exploring the historic port add to the charm of visiting this ancient city port of mixed architectural influence. Carlos and Angelo are charming hosts.
