We stayed here for 7 nights and really enjoyed this hotel.
It is a few steps from the main street so you are in the heart of all the action which is ideal for coming and going.
The breakfast was more than sufficient for us; we have lovely eggs, great coffee and fresh O.J each morning. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi and the rooms are nice and modern with Sky channels which are great to have available to you when you’re done in the sun or exploring the area. Found all the staff very nice especially our breakfast waiter. The pool along with the amazing sunbeds are amazing to head off to & relax, we spent a nice amount of time up here laying around!
Don’t hesitate to book, this place is perfect. I would 100% stay here again.

The good: the hotel is located just 10 steps away from Corso Umberto, Taormina main street. It's also very easily accessible by car, so you don't have to haul your luggage all around the city. Bear in mind, however, that you will have to park in one of the public parkings (a short 10 min stroll away).
The staff was extremely helpful and helped us in everything we needed. Very kid friendly, also. Our room (double superior) was very well furnished and ample enough for both of us and our baby. Breakfast was good, ample selection to choose from.

The not so good: Suggestions from the staff about places to eat or visit were not very useful; only one place was suggested and didn't seemed to be specially recommended. More effort in this aspect would make this hotel a 5/5.

Just returned from a weeks stay.We arrived very early - 9.15 am after an early flight to Catania.Naturally the room was not ready but we waited in the comfortable lobby area of the hotel & they had a room ready for us in just over an hour ! We had booked a double room but they gave us a triple with more room on the 3rd floor with views over the garden from the balcony
Staff & waiters were really helpful & breakfasts were ample with a good selection of food & drinks
The infinity roof top pool was cool & refreshing with a Jacuzzi section & with views over the town to the sea & the amphitheatre.
Positioning up a few steps from the main street was superb for the local shops & restaurants.
All in all a very pleasant hotel - would definitely recommend it

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor with a garden view

The reception staff at Il Piccolo Giardino are very helpful and friendly and speak good English, the waiting staff are less so but not rude and I imagine it stems from a lack of English or foreign languages. The hotel is stylish and clean and the room was as advertised online. The rooftop pool is very small but there is plenty of room for sunbathing and the pool is great for cooling off in, and the general atmosphere of the terrace is very nice. The breakfast area is set in a small garden and is very nice - there is also a bar outside near a seating area which looked nice but we never saw anyone manning the bar and it didn't seem to be open. The breakfast area is a restaurant during the evenings but we did not eat there, mainly because it was very quiet and therefore lacking in atmosphere - probably because the hotel is off the main street and the restaurant isn't very well signposted from the street.

Spent a few nights here on a holiday last month, the terrace was lovely, excellent views over the town. Service was good, very good breakfasts and staff were very polite and helpful. Thoroughly good visit and a great location, would strongly recommend!

We recently stayed here for 9 nights and did some extensive research on hotels in Taormina before deciding on this one. So glad we chose Hotel Il Picolo as the location is perfect, right behind Corso Umberto. We had a balcony overlooking the garden and you could see the sea in the distance, was absolutely beautiful. Rooms are quite small but clean and tidy. We chose not to eat the breakfast and just go to the little cafes each morning for a crossaint and espresso paying only average of 6 Euro for 2 of us.
I would highly recommend this hotel esp for the price you pay, and def highly recommend Taormina, in my top 3 places I've ever visited!!

We were not expecting a 5 star hotel - when we booked, we were expecting a 3 star hotel. That is exactly what we got. The hotel was clean, we had enough space in our room, the bathroom was modern. You cannot beat the location, it was literally perfect. Despite being near the main street (Corso Umberto), hotel was very quiet. The roof pool was small, but it did the trick. The front desk staff was very friendly. Breakfast was exactly as expected - continental and enough to start the day. Wifi worked fine. My only minor complaints are that you have to pay to rent pool towels and that you have to be in the room for the a/c to work (but that is true for most hotels in Italy). Garden area was lovely, but we didn't spend much time there beyond breakfast.
