This hotel is fine unless you are expecting 5 * standards which we weren`t, it`s just not that sort of place. Get yourself a good rate deal and it is value for money. The rooms are comfortable and it is quiet at night. Agree with previous posts that pool is small but I don`t think pool lounging is the primary reason for being in Taormina, if that is what you want I`d suggest checking out the bigger hotels in and around town and down on the private beaches. If you enjoy eggs for breakfast just ask and the kitchen do the usual range along with cheese and ham, don`t feel as though you are being cheeky, I get the impression guests don`t like to ask !. My only real negative is that Taormina is expensive (shock, Med tourist in `it`s a bit pricey` claim), that said you just need to look around for value before sitting at the first restaurant / bar that you come to. Explore the alley ways off Umberto and you'll find fair pricing but be aware of the cover charge added to most eating bills - 2 Euros pp, also look out for the extra you are charged at bars if you happen to be sitting at the tavolo; oh and the room tax per night bill that you are presented with on checking out (I doubt it will be included in your package cost). Do a bit of research to find out where your hotel is in relation to the bus terminal, we had 2 cabin baggage cases and found that we could have walked the (what turned out to be) 500 metres up the hill to the hotel rather than grab a cab for 10 (!!) Euros. Greek theatre is well worth a visit; the Etna excursion is expensive particularly if you want to go up to 3k metres - yep they get you on that ,taking you up to 1900 metres where you then pay for a cable car and moon buggy ride to the higher craters. On the day of our visit the weather was good with little cloud cover , this was something our tour guide banged on about - how lucky we were to get such clear views, suggesting to me that it is unusual, something you might want to think about when planning your visit - (is there going to be much cloud around?). Overall, Taormina and the surrounding area make an enjoyable short holiday, just be aware of the cost of living and the `tourist taxes`.
