“Sicilian chic”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

Just stayed here for a 5 day break, from the moment we arrived which was three hours late due to mount etna erupting we couldn't have been made more welcome. Antonio took us through the map of the local area, took us to our room and wow it was beautiful the views are breathtaking then he recommended a beautiful restaurant nearby as it was late. . Breakfast is truly amazing lovely bright room, wide choice of food from fresh bread, ham cheese, yogurts bacon eggs any way you want, omelettes the list goes on Thank you Evelyne who made our breakfast special everyday. The hotel does not have a pool however Antonio called another 5 star hotel and booked us into their pool for the day they were expecting us and treated us amazingly all day, we had lunch it was very nice an enjoyable day for our 5 year old. I would absolutely recommend this hotel the location is PERFECT for everything a beautiful Sicilian find a chic hotel with character and the best service around.... Thanks for a great stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in junior suite it was beautiful highly recommended

Hotel El jebel is one of loveliest hotels we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Each detail is perfection from the comfort of the bed, to the comfort of the chairs and sofa. The bathroom is magnificent and the decor could be out of a magazine. service and location is excellent.
Evelynne and Sanjor were a delight to meet and provided us with helpful ideas to optimize our experience in Taormina and their gracious hospitality made our stay a treat. I would unreservedly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

This is no where near a 5-star hotel with only 10 rooms without much facilities.

There isn't a clear sign telling us where the hotel is. We have been going in circles in the taxi for 30mins and in the end had to get off the car to walk along the path to find the hotel.

For the price we paid, we were having high hopes for this hotel. Unfortunately, this is not the case. There is a long staircase up to the hotel. Although to be fair there is a porter to help us with the luggages. Despite being called a junior suite room, the rooms are small (room 101/201).

The receptionist is very polite and professional. Chose this hotel if you enjoy 5* service / location but not for the rooms / price. The room my gf and I had didn't have hot water and the next day itself, my gf requested for a room change.

We were actually 'upgraded' to a suite room - and now this room really justify the price tag we have paid. This suite room is 2.5x bigger than the room we had previously. Based on the floorplan, we were upgraded from the smallest to the biggest room on the same floor. This room is brightly lit, huge bathroom, even a walkway with tv with sofa before we turn into the bedroom itself.

This suite is amazing and would be an ideal room for someone looking for luxury honeymoon etc. (We have checked the original price for this room and it would have cost us at least 2x more expensive than what we had paid - and it was expensive even for the smallest room.)

This hotel has a very nice terrace overlooking the whole Taormina which is very good as we literally spent the night up there chatting with some wine :)

We recently spent two nights at this hotel and it was wonderful. It is located in the town of Taormina. You need to climb a large set of stairs get there. It is a small hotel and what makes it special is the service. There is no parking on the property so you have to park at the public parking garage outside the gate. This is not a problem because it is quite close and they send someone to help with the luggage. Parking costs about 15 Euro per day.

Upon arrival, Antonio checked us in, gave us a map of the town and explained where everything is and what we should see and do. He then took us to our beautiful room, showed us where everything was and how the safe and tv remote worked. He could not do enough for us. Evelyn, who took care of us at breakfast, was just as wonderful and also so friendly.

The room was beautiful with luxurious touches. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom large. We were so happy just to hang out there and in the hotel.

It was a splurge that we would do again. It was really worth it.

This boutique is a find! Located in the old town of Taormina, the charm and style of the hotel makes is picture perfect. It was a bit difficult finding it for you must park you car and walk up to the hotel, but it is worth it! The staff is helpful, courteous and so amiable. A wonderful stay and a stunning small hotel!

If traveling to Taormina, staying at El Jebel is a definite must. The hotel affords you the immaculate service of the best B&B's (only 10 rooms!) combined with the comforts and amenities of a luxurious 5-star resort. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore the pedestrian area of Taormina. Special acknowledgement goes out Danilo from the front office who made us feel right home from the moment we checked in and throughout our stay (not to mention all his patience beforehand while handling our reservation as our itinerary kept changing). Besides being in a great location to the town, the hotel also provides guests with a free shuttle to a private beach club 15min away so you can relax and enjoy the pool, sand, and sun. We were fortunate enough to also be upgraded to a deluxe suite which was a nice surprise, and also made the whole experience that much more unforgettable. Thanks to all the staff that gave us a memorable stay; definitely hope to be back some day soon!

EJ is a small, clean, very well run hotel with the most convenient pedestrian location in town. All staff, without exception, from front desk to dining room, were engaging, courteous and truly cared about what type of experience we had in Taormina.Breakfast/dining area was very nice with great food and service.Dinner our last night was best meal we had in Sicily.Front desk was very helpful in cancelling train reservations and arranging for a car and driver to transport us to Siracusa.Highly recommend the jr suite as a good value.

Room Tip: spring for a jr suite on top two floors for views
