We stayed 2 nights in December. The staff is really nice and helpful. We were upgraded to a junior suite but still the rooms are rather small and so was the closet. There is a fabulous panoramic roof terrace from where we could see the city and the vulcano. Breakfast is very good. Wifi works well and is free. The rooms are very well decorated. We would have appreciated a night table on both sides of the bed instead of one, and the same for the light buttons.

We stayed for 4 nights at the end of October and have a wonderful stay. The hotel is in the perfect spot, right in the middle of the old town, but set back just enough that you feel out of the hustle and bustle when in your room. We stayed on the 2nd floor with a sea view. Our room was a little on the small side compared to other 5* hotels we've stayed at, but perhaps to be expected as it is a small boutique hotel. There was a good selection at breakfast with a combination of sweet pastries, breads, cereals, fruit, juices, cold meats & cheeses plus your choice of cooked breakfast to order (eggs, bacon, sausages etc). All the staff we met were charming and friendly - from our first few email exchanges through to the end of our stay.

Taormina itself is a great spot. Isola Bella is beautiful and worth the walk down to this stunning little cove (there is a cable car for 3EUR pp each way if your knees can't take it!). We also visited the amphitheater (we felt it was a bit pricey at 8EUR pp just to walk around) and gardens which were pleasant. In terms of excursions, we did a day trip to Etna with SAT. In hindsight, I probably would have organised this separately and gotten the bus instead, as we didn't feel we got much value for our money by going via a tour company. That's what we did when visiting the Alcantara Gorge (the bus terminal is a 15 min walk from the hotel), which was just stunning.

We flew into Catania airport and instead of booking a taxi through the hotel, we just got one from the taxi rank as we had read that this would be cheaper. It's not! The rate from the airport is 110EUR (and it's displayed on an official board at the taxi rank), whereas the hotel offers a transfer for 95EUR.

In terms of eating out, you have a great selection of restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel. Our favourite was Bar Trattoria which was just across the road and had a live musician every evening - relaxed atmosphere and the meatballs are worth a try - we went back twice! However it's worth mentioning that if you're looking for a place with great nightlife, this is not the place for you. If you're after good food, wine and an interesting mix of sites to see, then you can't go wrong.

As we went at the end of the October, there were still a few tourists around but you could tell it was coming to the end of the season. Luckily the weather was still warm (t-shirts and sundresses) and there were also people swimming. I think either September or October would be the best times to go, as I imagine this small town would get far too crowded during the summer months.

Thank you El Jebel for a great stay - highly recommended!

Our suite was beautiful. Stunning views of the sea and Etna. Excellent breakfast. This is a small boutique hotel (9 rooms I think) - don't expect the range of facilities you would find in a bigger 5* establishment. Charming service from Evelyne and Saroj. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at El Jebel and the staff was very prompt to respond to all our needs, from breakfast choices to excursion tips. And above all, our son was spoiled constantly by Evelyne and Sanjor. We will definitely go back.

Just stayed here for a 5 day break, from the moment we arrived which was three hours late due to mount etna erupting we couldn't have been made more welcome. Antonio took us through the map of the local area, took us to our room and wow it was beautiful the views are breathtaking then he recommended a beautiful restaurant nearby as it was late. . Breakfast is truly amazing lovely bright room, wide choice of food from fresh bread, ham cheese, yogurts bacon eggs any way you want, omelettes the list goes on Thank you Evelyne who made our breakfast special everyday. The hotel does not have a pool however Antonio called another 5 star hotel and booked us into their pool for the day they were expecting us and treated us amazingly all day, we had lunch it was very nice an enjoyable day for our 5 year old. I would absolutely recommend this hotel the location is PERFECT for everything a beautiful Sicilian find a chic hotel with character and the best service around.... Thanks for a great stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in junior suite it was beautiful highly recommended

Hotel El jebel is one of loveliest hotels we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Each detail is perfection from the comfort of the bed, to the comfort of the chairs and sofa. The bathroom is magnificent and the decor could be out of a magazine. service and location is excellent.
Evelynne and Sanjor were a delight to meet and provided us with helpful ideas to optimize our experience in Taormina and their gracious hospitality made our stay a treat. I would unreservedly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

This is no where near a 5-star hotel with only 10 rooms without much facilities.

There isn't a clear sign telling us where the hotel is. We have been going in circles in the taxi for 30mins and in the end had to get off the car to walk along the path to find the hotel.

For the price we paid, we were having high hopes for this hotel. Unfortunately, this is not the case. There is a long staircase up to the hotel. Although to be fair there is a porter to help us with the luggages. Despite being called a junior suite room, the rooms are small (room 101/201).

The receptionist is very polite and professional. Chose this hotel if you enjoy 5* service / location but not for the rooms / price. The room my gf and I had didn't have hot water and the next day itself, my gf requested for a room change.

We were actually 'upgraded' to a suite room - and now this room really justify the price tag we have paid. This suite room is 2.5x bigger than the room we had previously. Based on the floorplan, we were upgraded from the smallest to the biggest room on the same floor. This room is brightly lit, huge bathroom, even a walkway with tv with sofa before we turn into the bedroom itself.

This suite is amazing and would be an ideal room for someone looking for luxury honeymoon etc. (We have checked the original price for this room and it would have cost us at least 2x more expensive than what we had paid - and it was expensive even for the smallest room.)

This hotel has a very nice terrace overlooking the whole Taormina which is very good as we literally spent the night up there chatting with some wine :)
