My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Timeo to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. From the moment we stepped on this property we were treated like royalty!! The staff greeted us by name every time they saw us, it is little touches like this that make the difference! The staff was knew it was a special occasion and made sure to make it even more special, we always had a wonderful seat for breakfast and dinner, Prosecco and fruit in our room, and the pool manager treated us to champagne by the pool and always stopped by to ask we needed anything. I wish I could remember his name because he was so friendly and kind!!
Our mini suite was GORGEOUS with a view that was spectacular. We could see the bay and Mount Etna. Housekeeping kept our room spotless and they were so kind and made sure to come and go when we were not in our room. If we were there they asked if they could come in, but if we were getting ready to leave they would wait and come back later.
Front desk staff couldn't have been nicer, giving us great recommendations to go to places to eat or sight see. What ever we needed they made sure we had it.
Restaurant staff was fabulous!!! We had a dinner there after our vow renewal and they made it the most romantic dinner!! Whatever we wanted we had and the food was wonderful.
The day after our vow renewal they made us cappuccinos with hearts in them.
If we wanted breakfast in our room it was delivered and wonderful. There is a great deal of variety and we loved every bite!!!
A very special thank you to Mariangela, the banquet coordinator. She was in contact with me before our arrival to arrange our vow renewal. It was just my husband and I but we wanted it to be special and romantic. Mariangela was amazing and it was a ceremony we will never forget. She attended to every little detail from the flowers, candles, location, to the cake and Prosecco after the ceremony. It was everything we dreamed it would be. The same day we had our ceremony there was a big wedding with 160 guests, but Mariangela made sure we had her undivided attention as well. My husband, a military man, got choked up by the beauty of the ceremony!!
We also visited the sister property, Villa St. Andrea, and it is gorgeous as well. The beach is like something out of a dream, and the staff is just as attentive.
Do not miss the Villa's boat ride, it is fantastic.
If you are looking for a gorgeous setting and undivided attention the Grand Hotel Timeo is your place!!
I know I am forgetting something, but there is just not enough words to describe how wonderful this hotel is. It was a dream vacation and we will definitely be back!!!

We spent four nights at the Timeo as a family of four. It is quite simply a wonderful hotel that makes the most of its beautiful location overlooking Taormina and right next door to the Greek theatre. We had two interconnecting rooms in the main building with lovely views over the bay. The service could not have been better, and the concierge Stephen is fantastic. He is the man to see for concert tickets ! Staying the hotel meant we even met the band afterwards when they came to the terrace. We went down to the Sant' Andrea for a day, which is lovely, but were very glad we had chosen to stay at the Timeo. The spa was also excellent. We will definitely be back !

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main hotel with a sea view, as high up as possible.

We spent a couple of nights recently and had an amazing time there.
Had drinks at the bar and Luigi Rosso, the bar manager was extremely friendly and welcoming. We had a great night and Luigi looked after us very well! Had dinner on the terrace and the food and service were great. Finished the night with the pianist charly. Everything was perfect! Great views from the terrace and facilities in the hotel!
Visited other hotels and this is the best in town!

Service/Food: Service is great, rooms are impeccable. The maids and waiters will go out of their way to make your stay relaxing, or adventurous. The pool is small but very nice. The hotel has partnered with Villa San Andrea and there is a shuttle every 30min that takes you up and down the hill to enjoy their private beach.
Location: It's right in the middle of town. Walking distance to great restaurants, churches, and cafes.
Rooms: The villa is as nice as the main building, the view of Mount Etna on the right and the coastline on the left are picture perfect. The rooms on the top floor of the villa have a sweet balcony to take sun, or just watch the sunset

The Hotel Timeo is family friendly. If you are going to Taormina, this is the best place to stay.

We just came back from Taormina where we stayed at the Grand Hotel Timeo for 6 nights. We had a wonderful experience. Our room (536 - but actually 3rd floor) was located at the Villa Flora which is right across from the main hotel. The view from the room was amazing; sea view and mount etna at the same time (not sure whether lower floors have the same view as there is a another building facing the villa). Also, the view is actually from the balcony that is a few steps above the room, and not the room itself. The room itself was impeccable and beautiful. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is right on the pedestrian area, at the base of the Teatro Greco and a minute away from Corso Umberto (the main pedestrian street). Whenever we wanted to spend the day at the beach we took the shuttle down to the sister hotel Sant'Andrea (amazing food btw!).
Grand Hotel Timeo itself is a beautiful hotel with gorgeous landscaping and gardens. It has a lovely terrace with a breathtaking view, perfect for drinks!
The staff are all very helpful and friendly, and the concierge recommended many good restaurants for us along the corso umberto(our favorites being Maffei's and Viccolo Stretto)
While i do agree that it is an expensive hotel, i do reccommend it as it is a very beautiful hotel with great service and helpful staff, and our experience was honestly great. I would love to return one day.

Room Tip: Our room at the top floor of villa flora (3rd floor) had a beautiful view from the balcony (sea + etna) - bearing in mind that the view is from the balcony and not the room itself as the balcony is a few steps higher
