Villa Nettuno was featured on the cover of National Geographic Budget Travel. The location, the family that run the hotel and the property are fantastic! We stayed there twice and will keep returning on future trips to the beautiful town of Taormina.

Room Tip: All rooms are great.

I had a week in Taormina before a business meeting, but my budget was slim. Villa Nettuno was perfect for me! My room was spacious although the furnishings are nothing fancy. I spent more time out on my beautiful terrace, writing and reading. How I wish I were artistic because the view was spectacular. Bathroom and shower were perfectly serviceable. Awakened in morning by church bells--perfectly pleasant. The owners were helpful despite their limited English and my halting Italian. They delivered phone messages and called taxis for me as needed. The location is perfect--just a few blocks to the main pedestrian areas of town and right across from the cable car to the beach. Breakfast was a bit boring, but I started buying some fruit from the fruttivendolo nearby. The gardens are spectacular--try walking all the way up to the "Greek temple!" Enjoy beautiful Taormina and la famiglia Scioglio. I am ready to go back!

The location of the hotel is very good. Just a stone's throw away from the cable car station and the bus station. The rooms have good views. The property has a sweet garden on various levels. Great for birding. The rooms are small and teh beds not very comfortable. The bathrooms too are small but fitted with modern gadgets. Breakfast may or ,may not be included in the room rate.

I stayed here last month for 4 nights. It is in a great location as it is only a 2 minute walk from the bus station, and also is located beside the cable car that takes you to the beaches Mazzaro and Isola Bella.

The rooms are very basic and dated, but clean. We had 2 single beds pushed together but you get what you pay for. If on a tight budget, it is perfect and you'll have few complaints. If you want to stay out after 10pm, they will give you extra keys for the front gates to get back in late at night. Staff were pleasant. We didn't have breakfast so cant comment on that. The mornings were noisy from the cleaner & loud doors but that is the old nature of the house.

The villa offers a fabuous view of the harbour surrounding Taormina. It is located on the town bus route and near the cable car to the beach. It has been in the Sciglia family since it was built in the 1800's and is operated by Vincenzo and Maria who could be your Italian grandparents. Rooms are spacious and clean. There is no elevator so be prepared to carry your own bags. Parking is not allowed in the town. Don't forget to get a credit for the parking garage outside the town. We learned to late that breakfast was optional and were served the same tasteless rolls each morning. Opt to eat out in one of the nearby cafes.

This is a well located cheap hotel with character and a lovely garden. Forget the breakfast. Totally unmemorable on the one day we had it. There is a cafe just up the road and another useful one by the bus station if you are taking a trip early from there. It is a fair step from the bus station up hill if you have luggage with a ton of steps to finish off but it is also right opposite the cable car down to the beach and an easy walk to the town centre. I would absolutely suggest that the room to book is the one with doors onto the roof terrace. We had the next door one - which had a little balcony but 2 single beds in serious need of replacement. Incredibly uncomfortable. There was air con but you had to ask for the controller.

Not a place you would linger during the day but as we were out all day we were quite happy.

My husband and adult son stayed for 3 nights at Villa Nettuno. Its location was superb, allowing us to tour the area easily. While parking is not on site, there is a free shuttle bus to the town parking right outside the hotel. There is a moderate fee for parking but our car was in a safe and covered facility. The hotel is an short walk to the historic sites, shops and restaurants, making it easy to return for a rest during the heat of the day. The breakfast was simple but good and its setting in the shaded outdoor garden overlooking the coast was amazing. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and gracious. The building is an old family home but the accommodations were comfortable and air conditioned. Our sea view walk-up triple room opened onto a roof top patio with tables and seating, making it a perfect place sip wine at the end of the day or greet the dawn.
