My girlfriend and myself spent a week staying at villa Diodoro at the end of June beginning of July. The hotel was clean, ideally located and had some great views. Our room was well sized and the bed was huge. The pool was well kept and was situated so there was some amazing views out to sea. Food at the hotel was great, there was plenty of choice for breakfast, as well as excellent dinner choices. Staff were friendly attentive and helpful when needed. The hotel is located ideally a 5 minute walk to hustle of corso umberto. We would definitely return to Taormina and Villa Diodoro would be the top of our list to stay.

Amazing views with fabulous poolside and delicious food at the restaurant. A great choice of breakfast too. The rooms are spotlessly cleaned on a daily basis. The staff are so friendly and accommodating making this hotel a must return in our future plans, Simply fabulous. 4 of us stayed here B&B for 1 week and all of us are in agreeance that some of the negative reviews on here and other platforms must be more about the person leaving the review than the hotel and staff, as we have travelled far and wide over the years and this Hotel rates in our top 3!

Taormina is such a beautiful place. Try some of the bus tours, so you can get to see the beautiful Sicilian coastline and mountainous regions. Try a trip to Castelmola on the open top bus, not for the faint hearted mind! as the hairpin bends up the mountain can be white knuckle, but very enjoyable too!!

Room Tip: sea view room

Stayed for a week B&B. No complaints at all. Room clean and comfortable, towels and bed linen changed every day.Great views of Etna. Breakfast more than adequate with good selection although if you want a "full english" there was only boiled and scrambled eggs and bacon. No problem with sitting at any table you wanted and no problem with hot water for tea.
The hotel location is great, just a short walk to Taormina centre and the bus station.

Great hotel in good location. It is a 10 minute walk from the bus station and 5 minutes into the town. It is in a quiet road with great views of Mount Etna and the sea. The staff are friendly and the food is good.

We read the reviews of the hotel before we booked and thought that because of its location we would take a chance. We are glad that we did. The hotel isn’t cheap but you get what you pay for and if you opt for a garden view, that is exactly what you get. Our room (322) was a good size, has a large double bed and stunning views. The balcony comes with 2 chairs and a table. Great for a drink with friends, or the 2 of you before dinner!
Yes, the carpets are a little worn in places but it didn’t worry us at all.
The pool attendant has a job to do so I was expecting to have words with “Mr. Happy”. However, that wasn’t the case and once you got to know him he was fine. Always on hand to help with umbrellas. One gripe I do have is that we went to the pool and had decided to spend the morning and a little of the afternoon at the pool. I noted that at 10.00, people had put towels on the sun beds, but by the time we left at 2.30, they still hadn’t been used. These reserved beds were mostly in good positions with views that simply couldn’t be used. I see nothing wrong in saying that if a bed is not used for 2 hours the towels will be removed and open to all! all staff were friendly and wanting to please.
Breakfast was great……. For the first 2 days but after that it was exactly the same every day. Scrambled egg and thin bacon. Some baked beans, hash browns or sausages would really make a nice change. We had it for 10 days so in the end I was making my own concoctions! Good variety of fruit and cheeses and lots of fresh coffee!
I was worried by the parking, especially with an event on, but to be honest it was a breeze. Ring the bell and let reception know you are a resident. They will tell you to leave the car where you are through the gates and just drop your keys at reception. They will look after it for you!
Location is superb and I agree with other comments re hills and stairs, I got quite fit by the end of the holiday!!
Internet was slow and wouldn’t stream anything. Rooms were very clean and ours was cleaned daily to a high standard. Air con was also very good. Reception couldn’t do enough for us and were very polite. I suppose your attitude is set from the moment you arrive. We got a parking space no problem and checked into our room straight away! We drove and although ok, it could be a bit hairy at times!! Look at trip advisor reviews for some of the places to visit as they have some very good advice. We would recommend this hotel and yes, it isn’t contemporary or modern but nicely traditional with some stunning areas and furniture.
