“Just as I imagined...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

A glorious 5 nights stay in one of the suites. The décor was truly amazing with its ornate Italian taste and beautiful floor tiles in blue and orange throughout. The suite had a small balcony with amazing views of the sea and on a clear day it was easy to see mainland Italy. The suite was immaculately clean and generously had three different types of showers within the double-size shower unit.

We enjoyed the complementary sweet and savory canapés served at intervals throughout the day. We also visited the sister hotel to use their pool but stayed the full-day as it was very difficult to leave. It’s hard to compare which is the best of these two hotels as they are both equally stunning as each other and have their own unique stamp printed on them.

We were fortunate to meet the Hotel’s charming and proud owner briefly who gave us a recommended place to visit. A beautiful little quaint town about 10 minutes from our hotel called Castelmola. It was scene parallel to a fairytale with its dainty piazza commanding impressive views of Taormina and the wonderful charming, unusual shops and a pub displaying humorous phallic symbols in every corner.

Thank you to all the helpful staff at Villa Ducale for your patience with our daily bombardments of questions. We are sure to return again.

Room Tip: Stayed in Suite 4 nearby the Jacquzzi. A good size suite, very peacful night sleeps. No noise from t...

Wow. From walking in the door to walking out three days later, wow. The staff say we would like you to feel like family here (oh no, I thought, I have heard that too many times before) but here they mean it, live it and breathe it. I can't do this team justice. The welcome was out of this world, the food was sublime, the views breathtaking, the attention to detail was 5 stars. Too many times you pay for five stars and get mediocre and leave disappointed, her you do pay for five stars (it isn't cheap) but you get your money's worth plus, plus, plus...

Wow, get here if you can, get here with your partner and leave the kids behind.

You will enjoy it, remember it and wish to return. PS, we also found that by asking the staff to schedule the Mt Etna show for the evening at 8, they managed that as well. Literally they will move heaven and earth to make sure you feel part of the family. Thanks to all the staff, especially the ladies serving dinner and breakfast

This hotel is everything they advertise and more! We only were able to stay 1 night but wished we could of stayed a week. This boutique hotel has everything you could imagine. The rooms are out of this world and the food is amazing. Spend a few days here, do not rush through. We will be back for a longer stay.

A huge thank you to Paolo, Stefano, Eduardo and all at the Villa Ducale in Taormina! To say we enjoyed our stay would be an understatement. The hospitality, friendliness, the ambiance, the views - all are amazing. And the local salami served at breakfast is delicious!

We were on a walking holiday, touring the Aeolian Islands & after yomping up & down various volcanoes, wanted to ensure we had some rest & relaxation for five nights at the end of our trip. I chose Villa Ducale from the recommendations & reviews & we were not in anyway disappointed. There is not much I can add to what others have written before me but I would just like to mention again, the total dedication of the staff to ensuring you have the best of holiday experience at the hotel. All of the people we met, without exception were so lovely, friendly but professional too. The owner Rosaria, Introduces herself to all new guests to check everything is ok. I wish I could remember everyone's name but since we've been back over a month now, unfortunately I've forgotten. However, I haven't forgotten the faces & the little touches that were indeed above & beyond. One small example was when we came back from a very spectacular trip up Mt Etna. Covered in volcanic dust & dirt, I wanted to go straight to our room for a shower but as it was afternoon tea time, we were ushered on to the terrace to help ourselves to the sumptuous array of cakes on offer. When we eventually left ( barely fitting through the door ) I found in our room a plate laden with more cakes & pastries that the wonderful breakfast lady had arranged to put in our room for when we returned in case I had missed afternoon tea... Oh & don't ever believe there's no such thing as a free lunch ! Thank you Santi & everyone we met, we really had a the perfect end to our holiday. Sorry it's taken me so long to review.

Room Tip: We were across the small road in a junior suite. Spacious, well appointed, lovely views & spotl...

We stayed for 2 nights in one of the suites with a terrace and were blown away by the panoramic views over Mt Etna, Taormina and the sea. The ambiance of this traditional Sicilian Villa converted into a small boutique hotel was our kind of heaven, a special romantic getaway. We'd searched online and by foot for hotels in Taormina itself, and whilst they were lovely, Hotel Villa Ducale offered an authentic charm, peacefulness, privacy and a post-card beauty unlike anywhere we'd seen. All of the staff were engaging and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We loved our aperitif on the terrace by candlelight and our beautifully prepared home style meal was to die for- we'd highly recommend eating in! We would have stayed at the hotel on the second night for dinner, but we participated in a Sicilian cooking class, which was based on traditional recipes organised by the hotel for just the two of us with the head chef from Hotel Villa Ducale's sister hotel located down the hill and we ate what we'd cooked- just lovely. We are still cooking the same dishes from the class and reminisce about how much fun we had.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in one of their suites. Without doubt the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff could not have been more helpful, the food could not have been better, the location is stunning, the room was wonderful.

They also have good links with the local beaches and restaurants so whenever we asked the hotel to book something for us we always ended up with the 'best seat in the house'

Once again an amazing place.
