“A quiet and relaxing retreat tucked away from the busy town centre”
Reviewed 6 July 2014 via mobile

This place was perfect for us. We had their standard apartment for three nights which turned out to be very large and more than adequate. The balcony was amazing; sun throughout the day and incredible views. We spent most of our time here. It's tucked away from the town on a small road and it felt very peaceful to us - on two days we also had the run of the pool to ourselves. The 'luxury' in the title is always going to be subjective and there's no little extras some might expect in other 'luxury' establishments, but if you come understanding it's a self sufficient apartment and not a hotel then those expectations should be managed. It didn't bother us. The kitchen was fully equipped and we used it much more than we expected, and the bathroom was smart and spotless. The free parking is on the steep road outside which works very well and saves having to use the expensive multi-storey one nearby, or navigating the windy back roads of the town itself. The only complicating factor is the electricity meter - we had nothing to pay at the end and while it does make you energy conscious, it does mean it's on your mind! Overall, don't let that deter you. If you want somewhere that is faultlessly clean, meticulously looked after, in a quiet location in what must be one of Siciliy's most vibrant towns then this could very much be for you. A big thank you to the owner / manager who was really helpful and couldn't do enough for us, always with a big smile. We also travelled as a gay male couple and were made to feel exceptionally welcome. Highly recommended.

These apartments are a step above the average accommodation. They give you privacy , a beautiful view with your own veranda for lounging and plenty of room for our family traveling with two older teenagers. We were able to comfortably cook our breakfast every morning with a well stocked kitchen. It is an easy walk (up hill) into charming Taromina. Plenty of restaurant options
and shopping. Being just outside of town gives you a quiet destination and allows for a quiet night sleep. Well worth the extra money!

Room Tip: Higher rooms have more privacy and a beautiful view.

We stayed here for a week at the end of May. I would endorse many of the other reviews here: beautiful, spacious, and spotless apartments. Very friendly and laid back service.

Well suited to couples, families with older kids and maybe small groups. Town is a short 5 min walk away and fine if you are reasonably fit.

Not recommended if you are very unfit, immobile etc.

We never had a problem parking but I imagine in July and August it is not ideal.

Only thing I would have expected was a "welcome pack" with coffee etc: if you are arriving late make sure you have brought some coffee, milk etc with you.

We stayed here for 10 days in May this year and we absolutely loved it. The location has fantastic views, the accommodation is really cosy while having top of class amenities. There is a bit of a walk uphill to get to downtown Taormina, so i wouldn't advise it for the elderly with mobility difficulties.

There were 2 minor inconveniences while we were there: mosquitos - was the biggest one. Though we didn't leave the windows open at night, we still had a lot of mosquitos in our bedroom. It was zoo annoying that i stayed up for hours due to the noise.
The second was that the amazing pool with fantastic views over the bay -is unfortunately solar heated which meant that in May the water only had about 22 degrees, making it possible only for the brave hearted to enjoy it.

Other than that, everything was great. The owner is there most of the time and can give you great tips of where to go and what to see on the entire island. His tips were great and got us to see even a not so touristic side of the island.

Totally recommend the place as great value for the money!

We stayed here for 2 weeks in September in a 1 bedroom apartment. The apartment is located about a 10 minute walk from the main street Corso Umberto in town, and it's a very steep uphill walk all the way there. The views from the apartment's balcony are nothing short of amazing - the sea to one side, and Mount Etna to the other. The apartment was well equipped and nicely furnished. The kitchen had all the basics, but no microwave. Important to note that there is a small amount of electricity included in your rental, but you will definitely be paying in extra at the end of your stay. There is a great covered swimming pool for guests to use, but it is closed at 18h00, and WiFi is only available at the pool area. This was a huge failing in my opinion, as I felt that if there was WiFi available it should have been available in the rooms, and if not, it should have been available in an area accessible 24 hours per day. TV channels in the apartment were limited if English is your chosen language, but there seemed to be a lot of channels available to Dutch and German speakers. The apartments are not serviced, and you cannot dispose of your rubbish within the apartment complex, so that is something to bear in mind as well. All in all, a nice place to stay. Taormina is a fantastic place in Sicily, and this apartment served our needs while we were there.

This place has only three minor inconveniences: you have a 10min walk up the hill to reach Taormina (with a strolly it is a bit heavy but at least you then deserve your lunch/dinner; depending on the appartment, the noise of scooters can be annoying -> ask for an appartment far awayfrom the street, and there are many stairs / no elevator.

Otherwise the place is very nice, well furnished, extremly clean, the owner and the cleaning lady are extremely helpful even with exta requests. And the swimming pool is calm and refreshing with a beautiful garden. The view is amazing from anyplace. We had a very pleasent stay there.

As it is an appartment make sure you arrive with all what you need instead of taking the car again to go shopping, there is only soap, detergent and toilet paper.

The property is situated on a steep street and is very well maintained and comfortable. Our group of 17 booked 6 of the apartments and each is individual and most have magnificent views of the Bay of Taormina and some with views of Etna. It is a 10-15 minute steep walk to town depending on how fit and able you are

The pool is situated at the bottom of the property down some thirty or so steps and this is where guests access wi-fi.

The Manager explained to us that the property is not a hotel but rather self contained apartments

The fixtures and fittings of the apartments is of a high quality and is an excellent choice for those who like independence and the choice of self catering

The items we liked were

Large open plan rooms and balconies with superb views
Excellent quality bedding and linen
Convenient access to motorway
Fixtures and fittings

The items we didn't like were

Wi fi access only available at the pool
No signage on the property to alert when you had arrived
Ridiculous parking arrangements. If the apartments had been full I doubt we could have parked close to the residence and the laneway the residence is located in is very steep and narrow making moving the cars a challenge
Lighting dim in most of the apartments

No soap,coffee or tea supplied

The property is not suitable for the elderly due to the steepness of the stairs and parking

Room Tip: If you don't like stairs ask for a room near the entrance The rooms closest to the entrance hav...
