“Sicily at its best!”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

The Villa Carlotta is small and charming hotel, we would highly recommend it for couples looking for a relaxing Italian experience in Sicily.

The roof top breakfast area / restaurant have great views of the sea and Mount Etna ... but don't let them distract you from the excellent food on offer ... especially the breakfast!

The hotel is nicely tucked away off the main beaten track. A short walk from the hotel takes you through the charming back streets up onto Taormina's main shopping and eating area. There are many good restaurants and bars to choose from.

The pool area is small but functional. The staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views, rooms with a balcony and sea view are ideal

I would recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone and everyone. My husband and I loved everything about it. The staff were particularly amazing and as restaurants are very important to us we looked to them for advice. Every place they suggested was incredible. We can't wait to go back.

A beautiful small hotel with really high quality furnishings in the rooms and public areas. Very friendly and helpful staff who go the extra mile to assist guests. After a trying day travelling Simona made me feel very welcome and at home. I stayed in the apartment with the terrace overlooking the bay and Etna. It really must be the best view in Taormina and a luxurious place to relax. Main Street in town is only a nice 15 min stroll and there is a lovely public garden 2 minutes away. The pool and hotel garden is a delight and breakfast is plentiful with fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, delicious caponata etc and views over the bay which are as breathtaking as they are beautiful. Being a boutique hotel it is also very peaceful and relaxing. Thank you Simona, Ricardo and all the staff.

Room Tip: The rooms with terraces are exceptional.

This Hotel was the highlight of our European Vacation. Olga, Natalie and the entire staff made us feel so welcome like we were part of their family. Our room was gorgeous with breathtaking ocean views. We were so sad to leave there. We made many friends with the Hotel guests. Can't wait to return. We miss you all! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Room Tip: There are all great!!

We spent 6 nights at the very beginning of May. The hotel is very comfortable, breakfasts absolutely excellent, and service outstanding (every member of staff was incredibly helpful without exception). The top floor restaurant's panoramic views provide a wonderful setting for meals, and an aperitif in the adjacent comfortable lounge area is a must.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms have best views; we had a junior suite high up. These rooms have a balcony which...

The staff were ever so helpful, from check-in we were assisted by Simona and Ricardo, then by Olga and Natalia for the most of our stay - who were both very patient and friendly at all times, with all guests. All recommendations were excellent, and the went out if their way to book in a yoga class at the last minute...making several calls to organise. We were also assisted with ideas for our drive back to Catania-Canoli at Casablanca (Girdina-Naxos). There was a huge selection of food at breakfast, but I would prefer to have a hot meal that is made to order. All other food was great, especially the ham, cheese, tomato pastry pie.

Went to dinner with two friends who had done a cookery course here in the day and were staying at Villa Ducal (sister hotel) - very nice building, location, very friendly staff, some amazing catacombs, we had dinner outside on the balcony overlooking the sea/Etna, all very nice. Chef came out, very friendly. The food was good, nice fresh ingredients, some unusual twists, and a to-die-for canoli at the end. Good wines, good service.
