This is our first trip to Europe and our first hotel stay. We felt very comfortable and very much at home. A small family-run hotel with sea views. Sparta family are very helpful and kind people although they may not speak alot. A 10 mins walk from the bus station can be strenuous if you are carry heavy luggages because it's up-slope. Ask the friendly traffic officer in front of Corso Umberto for directions.
Otherwise, location is great. A local mini-mart nearby, 5 mins walk to the Corso Umberto main street and you can get to anywhere from there, like taking a bus up to Castelmola, cable-car to the Isola Bella beach, the Greek-Roman theatre. Do not miss Pasticceria D-Amore, mouthwatering cakes and pastry, try the almond biscuits.

The room is small but clean and comfortable. Book the full sea-view room if you have big luggages. Yes, we hear voices from the corridor but it doesn't bother us as we were soon sleeping like a log.

We woke up every morning to have breakfast at the terrace, enjoying the sea breeze and the superb views. I woke up at 5.30am on the 1st day, guess what, I catch a spectacular sunrise! Speechless!

Ilaria and Marcello are very helpful. They told us the timing for the bus to Castelmola, and helped us book the Stromboli tour. Marcello also shared with us the traditional Sicilan sweets, like cannoli pastry, almond wine, and the cassata cake (which I didn't managed to try.. what a pity!).

Overall, Taormina and Hotel Condor is the best of our 2 weeks' Italy trip. Will definitely come back again.:-)

This is a small, family run hotel, which is handily placed, being in a relatively quiet location and also just a short walk from the centre of the old town. As parking is difficult to find, we used the secure hotel parking, which cost 10 Euros per night. Our room was ok, although the balcony was rather too small (and scary) to use. Breakfast was fine, except for the orange drink referred to by another reviewer, while the terrace where it was served had outstanding views. The sun terrace on the roof had wonderful views too. During our stay it was quite windy up there, perhaps explaining the lack of any umbrellas to provide some shade. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke good English.

We booked for 4 nights and ended up staying 6 nights. We loved Taormina and felt very much at home at Hotel Condor. It is a family run hotel and everyone was lovely and very helpful. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. We enjoyed being able to use the deckchairs in the roof top garden in the evening and enjoyed breakfasts on the terrace in the morning.

Just back from a wonderful holiday in Taormina we were over for a Family wedding which was absolutely brilliant but thats for another review!!! This is a lovely little hotel and made better by the lovely helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are fine better actually than some we have stayed in in Europe a very comfortable bed and pillows excellent lighting(thats just a bugbear with me im usually trying to put makeup on in the dark in some hotels) and the best thing a/c with which was worked by remote control great if you woke in the night with the heat which was possible as the weather was gorgeous. There was a shutter on window which kept out the sun which cheerily!! rose each morning about 4.45. As some some other reviewers said bathroom was small but it had shower bidet sink and toilet what else is needed.the only thing that took the extra star away was the shower gel there were only only 2 sachets on the day we arrived and it was never replaced for the 4 days we were there which really isnt acceptable in a hot coiuntry when you would shower twice a day. The breakfast was lovely every morning the lovely girl who did it and i'm sorry I forgot her name greeted us with a smile and a basket of fresh crusty rolls biscuits toast and a selection of jams cornflakes ham and cheese choice of tea, coffees and a wonderful cappuchinos but the best was the selection of homemade cakes and pastries available unbelievable cakes that were so light and just gorgeous all served on the roof top terrace with spectacular views. There is also an upper level where you could sunbathe on loungers and have a glass of wine pure bliss. The hotel is only a 5 min walk from town very quiet area handy wee supermarket close by to stock up on water etc. Other downside is it can be noisy but family had stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels in other areas in Taormina and had the same complaint. All in all I would recommend it and I hope to return in the future.

Hotel Condor was perfect for our 4 night stay and for what we needed. We chose a balcony room which had a beautiful view and picture perfect sunrises! The balcony was a wonderful place to sit and relax each evening. The hotel is small but our room was very clean and comfortable. The family that runs Hotel Condor is friendly and very helpful! We enjoyed the rooftop terrace for breakfast. The location is great.....just a short walk to everything! If you are like us and will be spending your entire day touring and enjoying Sicily then Hotel Condor is a good choice.

The hotel is very average. To be honest we were quite disappointed with the place after reading so many good reviews on Tripadvisor. The rooms are really tiny, and the bathroom tinier. The WC was not even well cleaned when we checked in. The walls are too thin, and you will hear every bit of noise outside - people talking in other rooms, the noise of other guests running up and down the stairs, etc. Adding to our consternation, there was a family with babies in our next room and we had tough time sleeping due to the constant wailing of the babies.

The breakfast is just about average, and the waitresses could use a smile instead of their perennial constipated looks. The surprising bit is that you have to pay extra for toast!

The only redeeming features for this tiny place is that it has free wi-fi, its location and decent service. The bed linen was changed once in the 4 nights we stayed, and the room was cleaned everyday.

The parking is charged at 10€ a day, but worth it since there is a secured parking area in the area. Note to book it early, since there are limited spots and they may run out of it during peak season.

Since it is rated as a 2-star place, we tried to console ourselves that this is the best it could offer. We suggest look for other options (and there are many) before booking Hotel Condor.
