The Condor is in a great location, very easy to walk to the old city. We stayed in the apartment next to the hotel. It is very basic, but clean and comfortable. The staff is wonderful. Breakfast is good, and is included, as is free wifi. The terrace on top of the hotel has several floors, and a truly wonderful view. It is a great place to have a glass of wine and relax and plan the next day. Bedrooms and bath are small, as they are all over Europe. The apartment has a washer / dryer - great bonus!

The positive reviews already posted accurately depict this place, so there's no point merely repeating them....except to say that Hotel Condor provides the kind of comfort, cleanliness and service more reminiscent of an old-fashioned, established family hotel. It's great! The double room we enjoyed was big enough to accommodate all the trappings we brought for a two week holiday in Italy and our seven-day stay at the Condor was undoubtedly the highlight. One tip: take the recommendations of the hotel when going out to eat - they are excellent. We didn't the first night and opted for the Magna Grecia restaurant near the ancient gateway to the main drag and the Corsa Umberto. It was a a big mistake because the Magna Carta not only qualifies for serving the worst food in Sicily, it also boasts the worst service. (In fact, it's nearly worth going to experience how bad it is; and if so, try the "large sardines" and tell me that they're not much bigger than whitebait, and then the unique "filetto al pepper verde", which contains no pepper, no verde and no fillet steak. Beware of Greeks bearing gifts!) .

the room was very cmfortable and quiet, the staff very warm, helpfful and efficient. breakfast was nice, served on the roof' with beautiful view to the sea.
The main disadvantage was the parking area - not so close to the hotel, and there is an extra charge of 10 EURO a day.
I will warmly recommend this hotel!

The hotel offered excellent service and the front desk staff were most obliging and friendly.
We had a room with sea view and balcony which was as we expected. The only disappointment was the absence of a room fridge and the shower was rather confined and erractic. We found the location ideal for the town and restaurants and we were able to order goods from the breakfast room/bar throughout the day. The hotel arranged their own excursion to Etna which was convenient, illuminating and excellent value
