Hello, everybody. We're an Italian couple and we were coming back to Germany after our "summer" vacation (it was Oktober 2012). We decided to have a three nights stop in the marvellous Taormina and - just the day before - we booked an apartment linked to the hotel in object (hence, we can not talk about the hotel itself). The apartment is located just 40 meters away from the Andromaco Hotel, therefore we could enjoy the kindness and the professionalism of the hotel's personnel (and we can talk about it!).
The hotel itself is about 15 minutes by walk from the Taormina's center.

The apartment has got a really nice garden before the entrance, equipped with table and chairs. The apartment itself is really big and I think that up to eight persons could stay quite comfortable: we were just two persons, hence we used just a part of the apartment.
The forniture were definitely not luxurious, but we've found everything we needed: an equipped kitchen, a capacious refrigerator, a sufficient number of wardrobes, there was also a washing machine that we didn't use. Everything was clean and neat.
We could also have fun in the hotel's swimming pool, but unfortunately our time in Taormina was not that long, and we decided to spend our days around.

Some pros of the apartment were: the view from the balcony, really charming; the possibility to use for free the parking area of the hotel (just down the apartment's balcony, we could see it); the environment, really quite.

Just at the beginning. we had a chat with Laura (the lady at the hotel's reception) and she was really nice and helpful, suggesting us something interesting to do for our three-days stay. We've followed the hotel's advices and everything went pretty much good! We enjoyed a lot our staying.
One day we booked a shuttle for going down to the beach and coming back to the apartment. We just payed for our staying at the beach, therefore the shuttle was for free. The linked beach (spisone) was enchanting!

In conclusion, we enjoyed a lot our staying in Taormina and for this we can thank not only the city itself but also the Andromaco Palace Hotel.
We hope to come back in Taormina again; in that case We'll try to contact this hotel again!

Cheers!

Lucilla and Nino.

We recently stayed in this hotel for 11 nights. On our third day there, my husband became ill and spent 5 days in hospital in Taormina. The family who own and run this hotel was wonderful. We will never forget the kindness and helpfulness shown to us. The owner,Antonio, drove us to hospital immediately where my husband received prompt treatment. Both the family and all staff members were so pleasant, helpful and supportive.
The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area, about 10-15 minutes walk from the main thoroughfare. A bus service operates frequently into town. It has a lovely pool area. Breakfast is the only meal served but a local cafe or ristorante will deliver really lovely food withih a half hour of ordering. It comes piping hot and can be eaten in bar area near reception which has a small balcony overlooking the sea!
The Andromaco is a small, very clean, homely, family run hotel. Our stay there was a heartwarming experience. It is a 3 star hotel but we received 5 star treatment. We recommend it wholeheartedly.

We stayed in the Andromaco Palace right at the end of the season and the first thing to observe is that it was very, very quiet. We felt like we were the only guests sometimes! Not that this was any bad thing as it is a cosy little hotel, with a very interesting (in my view charming) layout over several floors.

The room was nicely decorated, with a great shower and absolutely spotless. Certainly nothing exciting but everything one would expect for the reasonable price. The view from our room (206) was absolutely stunning, and with a large wraparound balcony we were really able to enjoy it. One of the best features of the whole stay and its definitely worth requesting a good view as I'm sure not all the rooms would have such a great panorama.

The pool was lovely, chilled just as it should be in the heat and there was even a little Jacuzzi which we had not expected! On most days we had the pool to ourselves, which I loved and there was lots of space to sunbathe on the terrace.

The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. We arrived jetlagged on the Sunday, and were extremely hungry before we had a chance to get our bearings. Even though the kitchen was closed at this time the helpful girl on the desk went off and made some toasties, delivered to our door. Personal touches like this are what really makes you want to recommend a place. On other occasions the owner (I believe) helped us to book excursions and make enquiries where language was a problem.

The breakfast (as you can read in other comments) was not great. I wouldn't say poor so much as bizarre. Popcorn and tuc biscuits featured on a couple of days, not something I've encountered before. Despite this there was always bread, delicious tomatoes, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit and above all great coffee. It’s amazing how far a great coffee can get a breakfast even when other things are lacking!

The hotel is a short and very pleasant walk through some of the residential streets of Taormina, about 10 mins from the main city gate. At the time of year this walk was an absolute delight, and a chance to burn off some Italian calories, but I imagine at the height of summer it would be pretty arduous.

Very few downsides to be honest (minus the very noisy neighbors dog, but really what can you do?). One thing in particualr stands out, two single beds pushed together to make a double, which is always annoying. Perhaps it could have been a bit busier, but we were at the very end of the season.

Everything we had hoped and at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended for a week’s stay.

We stayed at the Andromaco Palace in June and enjoyed our stay.
Our room was at the back with a view over the pool. It was a nice large room, spotless and with a nice shady terrace outside.
As mentioned in other reviews, breakfast was nothing to write home about but was no worse than at other small Italian hotels we have stayed at. If breakfast is a big deal for anyone then they'd probably be better off staying at a bigger (and more expensive ?) hotel.
There is no lift at the hotel so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with walking difficulties as there are quite a lot of stairs. It is also a bit of a walk (15 mins in the heat) to the town.
The pool area was very nice and a real suntrap. On the days we were there we were often the only guests round the pool.
The hotel was generally very quiet - there was just a bit of noise one night when some guests arrived late but other than that we slept well each night
All in all we found the hotel to be very comfortable and the staff friendly. Apart from breakfast we didn't eat in the hotel but it was a good base and within fairly easy reach of the town and cable car (for the beach) and the bus station if taking trips further afield.
Taormina is a lovely town and we would consider coming again and would certainly book at the Andromaco if we did

Room Tip: First floor at the back overlooking the pool are both quiet and have a nice terrace to step out onto from the room./

Hmmmm.......1 night only in Taormina with no air conditioning to speak of and a truly dreadful breakfast that was inedible.Yes the staff are friendly and we should have known better than to visit in august with temperatures in the high 30s but it was 165€ for a cramped family room that reeked of cigarettes and had ancient air con. I was truly expecting a better standard. If you are arriving by car prepare to get lost, the gps probably wont work and parking is really difficult we scraped the rear wings off our hire car trying to do a u turn in a very narrow road.I have to say that we didnt find the hotel to be 'spotless'. During the drought season all the windows are covered in a grimy patina but that doesn't however spoil the views which are excellent.
