Just 10min walk to the entrance of the historical city area. Really quiet and cozy place to spend vacations with a reasonably small buget. Splendid view from the balcony. It's pitty, It was still too cold to swim in their own swimming pool with a jet bath. Lovely wide-ranged breakfast in the sunny side cafe'. Friendly staff. I'll surely go back there again. Graize Laura.

Room Tip: better to book as soon as you can.

Had to get a taxi to find the hotel as it was well tucked away. There is hardly ever anyone on reception, our room was nice and clean but its not worth getting out of bed for the breakfast, there was a choice of ham one day, cheese the next. Watered down orange squash, water and milk, tomatoes, rolls and biscuits, very boring. we had to ask for yoghurts but they didn't have them every day. Quite often the plates of food were empty and you felt like Oliver having to ask if there was any more. We thought we had prepaid all our bill but had to pay another 16 euros tax when we left, none of the other hotels that we had stayed at charged us this on top of what we had already prepaid.

Limited space around swimming pool, with few loungers, can imagine it being very cramped in the summer when the hotel is full. Wifi was only available in the lounge and took a good 10 minutes for them to find the code so we could log on, so never bothered again, just used bars with free wifi.

We stayed in one of the Hotel's Apartments (3 bedrooms) for 7 nights in late July. The Apartment was just across the road from the hotel, 3 very large bedrooms, kitchen, small lounge area, 2 balconies and a patio/garden area. Traditional design with air con and a nice sea view from the rear. The rooms were amazing and there was plenty of room for my wife and I and our 5 kids. Indeed some days we had other family round for breakfast and the apartment could cater for a large number of people between the kitchen, lounge, balcony and garden. We didn't spend a lot of time in the Hotel but the Hotel staff are very friendly with limited English and it is a real family run business, laid back and informal. Our kids were warmly welcomed and the hotel had no problem with friend of ours joining us in the apartment or the pool. The pool was nice but had no shallow area for small kids. Poolside bar with drinks, ice creams and basic lunches was very relaxing. We were a 10/15 minute walk from the town centre. The walk was nice when it was not too hot and it's located in a residential area. A bus to town operates infrequently (every hour or so).Taxi to town cost €10. All in all our holiday felt as though we had moved in with the locals and it was very enjoyable. Taormina is nice but probably more geared to couples on a 3 day trip than a large family like ours but if you wanted to get away from the "beautiful people" in town you couldn't pick a nicer spot than this apartment.

Room Tip: The Apartments are ideal for larger families

We arrived in the early evening to find the hotel tucked away, could have been nice little did we know. Check in was hard work and the first thing that you notice is the overwhelming smell of cigaret smoke. A long walk down a hot corridor and some stairs that are only just wide enough for the suit case and we find the room. The room was noisy, clean, but the walls must be made from paper. You would hear everything from the other rooms, I must say I don't like hearing a toilet flushing having first heard the activities leading up to the flush. The cleaner always opened the blinds so the sun could get in and turned off the aircon, just so we would be warm, how kind, though not welcome in 34 degree heat. Shower was a drip or a trickle and was always cold.
The hotel in general, well signs everywhere saying no smoking, cleaners, management and other guests don't follow that rule, so you would find people smoking in the corridors, outside their rooms and even in a rather funny interior balcony arrangement that some rooms have.
Breakfast, watered down orange juice, processed ham, processed cheese, olives and some tasteless tomatoes, along with a whole array of biscuits and if you were lucky and came in early enough, some cereal. Break rolls were dry and the jams less that average. In all breakfast was rubbish, as was the breakfast coffee.
Location, if you want to be out of the town is certainly has that. Though a good 10 minute walk up and down some hills, in the heat that builds very quickly, will possibly change your mind. An example, hotel to the cable car, 20 mins and you get there needing a shower. I'm young fit and healthy and I found it a total bore after the second time and by the end of my 9 day stay I couldn't wait to get home so I didn't have to walk that walk again. If you wanted to you could get a bus down to a beach, for 7€, beach was boring and there wasn't the snorkelling you find on Isola Bella. If not going to the beach, the walk to the Corso Umberto, the Main Street, is a good walk, certainly you'll walk off the pasta/pizza/ice cream.
The pool, firstly it's deep, both ends are very deep, I don't have any children but it's not for kids, certainly not on their own. Though this seemed to be the norm, lots of kids bombing the pool not a parent in sight. It's not overly large but it can help to cool you off. It's not light at night but I doubt anyone would stop you from swimming in it. There is a bar of sorts, it's ok but nothing special. So pool, in comparison to the rest of the hotel, not bad.
Conclusion, it could be a lovely quiet place, if run properly and with a little more care it would be charming, if a little out from the town. As it is, it's noisy, smelly and a little infuriating.

We were disappointed with our room which was pokey and dark and very noisy at night with lots of noisy children in the pool. Very little service of any kind and a lot of cigarette smoking by staff and other clients-even while we were eating breakfast -which was very basic anyway. Humph!

We stayed here for five nights as part of an AA Great Getaways break.

The hotel is situated in a residential area of the town, a 10-15 minute walk from the main shopping area. Facilities are basic, as are the rooms but they are a fairly decent size and reasonably clean. Minimal toiletries in the bathroom, which are sometimes not replenished. Some have partial sea views (east/south side of the hotel). No external noise as there is little activity in the neighbourhood. The Breakfasts are poor, however with a paucity of choice (no hot dishes and consist of predominantly sweet biscuits or savoury crackers/rice cakes. Coffee was good. The waitress almost set time limits on how long we could use our table (30 minutes before she arrives with an impatient look on her face!).

Small pool area but clean with some lovely views of the town and distant sea. A snack bar serves Italian food. As this is a family-run hotel the staff are friendly and hospitable.

The one important piece of advice I would give is arrange transportation before you depart home (either taxis or minibuses from the Airport). We hired a car from the airport and travelled to the town at night. If you do not have adequate maps or a Sat Nav you can/will get lost as the hotel is difficult to locate and the hotel car park is down a steep incline, some 50 metres from the building.

Overall if you like informal family-run establishments this will suit you.i

We stayed here for 7 days and the staff were good. One spoke enough English to get by with and so this was useful when we needed anything/information.

Parking was fine, but tricky to get to by car, probably best leaving hiring of a car until you are leaving Taormina.
Swimming pool was nice, but deep. I could not go in comfortably being 5 foot 2" tall. (shallow end was approx 1.75m deep and deep end 2.5m)
The breakfasts (we stayed bed and breakfast) were poor. Considering the amount of fresh produce available everywhere, the hotel did not have any, apart from tomatoes and a few pears. Rest of breakfast consisted of biscuits and packaged items. It could have been so much better.

The family room we had was a good enough size and was cleaned daily, however the bedsheets in our bedroom were smelly always (sort of smell that occurs when sheets have not been dried properly before storeage) and our bathroom also had a lingering smell which would not go away.

There was a radio in the room which did not work and a TV which did work.

Apart from this a good place to stay within relatively easy reach of Taormina, approx 10-15 minutes walk down hill. Coming back was a lot more difficult due to the hill. At the bottom of the hill there was a lovely pasticcerie called L'amour, where a delicious icecream (or cakes) could be obtained to make the climb back easier.
